The RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" (aka Zephyranthes, GP01, Unit 1) is a prototype general-purpose mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory OVA series. As described in the Master Grade model manual and MS Encyclopedia, at the conclusion of the One Year War, the Federation started the Gundam Development Project, aimed at creating mobile suits superior to those that Zeon had developed. The RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" was the second of five prototype Gundam-type mobile suits completed under this plan.The RX-78GP01 was designed to be able to operate under any condition on earth or in space. To that end, its design is superficially similar to the other RX series Gundams. Unlike previous suits, this was one of the first to re-introduce the core fighter concept in its design, utilizing the recently developed FF-XII Core Fighter II as the cockpit. Though the GP01 is operable in both Earth and outer space, it needs to be configured for each environment before battle by using the appropriate Core Fighters. Otherwise, the GP01 will suffer from a lack of balance and become near impossible to pilot.One major innovation in the RX-78GP01's arsenal was the addition of a beam rifle that used a removable energy capacitor called e-pac. The GN-000 0 Gundam (pronounced Oh-Gundam) is the first GN Drive equipped mobile suit in the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 series. It was piloted by Ribbons Almark and later by Lasse Aeon. The 0 Gundam was a general-purpose mobile suit developed during the Solar Power Wars, 15 – 20 years prior to the revelation of Celestial Being, and was completed around A.D. 2290. The first Gundam created by Celestial Being, it was also known as the first generation machine. Data obtained from it was used in creating the second generation Gundams such as the GNY-001 Gundam Astraea. Unbeknownst to the organization, the 0 Gundam's data was copied by Ribbons Almark and the Corner Family, who later used it to create the Throne series. Although Ribbons was once the 0 Gundam's pilot, he was not its official Gundam Meister as the suit did not switch its rollout color scheme (white, grey and yellow) to a custom one, a standard procedure whenever a Gundam has an official Meister. While the completion of the GN Drive was an important step in the establishment of GN Drive-equipped mobile weapons, it also required the development of ancillary technologies and materials like E-Carbon that is capable of withstanding the machines' high output. No matter how revolutionary a specific part is, it would not be able to demonstrate its full capabilities until surrounding technologies have also developed enough. As such the completion of the 0 Gundam was a triumph as it established the basic concepts and systems for later Gundams. This included the use of the GN Drive as the main engine unit, use of the GN Drive's high output to drive beam weapons, presence of clavicle antennae on the torso for controlling GN Particles, and head-mounted v-fin antenna as well as twin eye camera. Compared to later Gundams, the GN Drive's cone on the 0 Gundam's back was not only of a different design, it was also larger and protruded out more as the drive's ancillary/support systems were yet to be miniaturized. In terms of armaments, the suit has a Beam Saber, Beam Gun, and Gundam Shield for close to mid-range combat. During the Celestial Being's armed intervention in A.D. 2307-2308, the 0 Gundam was with the shadow support organization, Fereshte, who usually took out its GN Drive to power their Gundams. Fereshte eventually merged with the reborn Celestial Being, bringing the 0 Gundam along. The 0 Gundam's GN Drive was then removed and used in powering the GN-0000 00 Gundam, while the suit itself was stored in one of Celestial Being's resource satellites. The 0 Gundam was later pulled out of storage for combat deployment during the final battle with the Innovators. Since there was no GN Drive left to power it, the 0 Gundam was fitted with a large GN Condenser, also known as particle storage tank, that gave it limited operational time. It also had a new color scheme of red, blue and yellow, and was renamed as 'GN-000 0 Gundam (Type A.C.D.)' (Actual Combat Deployment) to differentiate it from its original form. This version uses the same armament as the original's. Later in the battle, the 0 Gundam (Type A.C.D) was abandoned by the backup Gundam Meister Lasse Aeon after its particle reserves were depleted. It was then found by Ribbons, who reactivated the Gundam one last time using a GN Drive he had cut off from the 00 Gundam.

The RX-75 Guntank , also known as the RX-75-4 Guntank , is a mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Gundam television series.The RX-75 Guntank was the first prototype Earth Federation Forces mobile suit developed by Operation V. However, it was said to be closer to a tank rather than a mobile suit. A number of companies such as Takim and Hervic participated in its development. The Guntank had the torso and arms of a mobile suit, but possessed caterpillar treads for legs. Initially, it was designed to be piloted by a crew of two, with a gunner in the canopy-style cockpit on the head and a driver in another cockpit in the torso. However, it was later changed to be controlled by a single pilot in the canopy-style cockpit. Like all "Operation V" mobile suits, the Guntank used the Core Block System.Its reactor is a hybrid type of nuclear reactors and gas turbines, and its output is insufficient for powering beam weapons. The Guntank's main weapons are twin 120mm cannons, which are effective at long and medium ranges. Its arms have four-barrel missile launchers instead of hands, and they provided good cover fire against enemy tanks and aircraft, but are less effective against enemy mobile suits. A major flaw of the Guntank is its inability to turn its torso, making it difficult to aim the cannons at moving targets, as the Guntank must reposition itself. Another major flaw is that its design was primarily for ground combat, resulting in it having poor maneuverability in space.

A direct descendant of the RX-78-2 Gundam developed by the Titans, the Gundam Mk-II is the first mobile suit to utilize the new movable frame concept. In this new concept, rather than merely serving as a structural framework, the movable frame incorporates all the mobile suit's vital mechanisms, including the actuators and control systems required for movement, and excludes the mobile suit's weapons, armor, and propellant tanks. This approach dramatically improves the mobile suit's responsiveness, reliability, and energy efficiency, as well as making it far more agile than traditional designs.Another characteristic of the Gundam Mk-II is that some of its legs' movable parts are exposed and this design feature is based on the prevailing idea at that time that avoiding being hit by the enemy is the preferable choice. The origin for this idea is because no existing armor can fully protect against beam weaponry, thus it is better to increase the mobile suit's mobility by weight reduction rather than equip more armor which would lead to a higher weight and lower mobility.The mobile suit also has what had become the standard 360-degree panoramic screen and linear seat fitted in a circular cockpit that also functions as an escape pod. The multiple panels of the panoramic screen make up a single 360-degree display, covering the entire inner surface of the cockpit. The image displayed on this screen is a computer simulation constructed from the cameras distributed around the mobile suit's exterior. The viewpoint is that of the mobile suit's head, and the image is carefully edited to remove the mobile suit itself. The linear seat is suspended in the center of the cockpit, supported by a linear arm which electromagnetically counters G-forces and impact shocks in order to protect the pilot. Together, the panoramic screen and the linear seat gives the pilot a larger field of view and eliminates blind spots.The most notable flaw of the Gundam Mk-II is that it is armored using the obsolete titanium alloy ceramic composite. Another flaw is that the movable frame's leg sections have rigidity issues associated with the strength of the structural material used, and this problem persisted even after six design revisions. Despite this, for a brief time period, the Gundam Mk-II's movable frame makes it one of the most agile mobile suits available. Three Gundam Mk-II were produced in total. They were later stolen by the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) and given a new paint scheme. Despite being used by two different factions, the Gundam Mk-II's weaponry remains mostly unchanged. Its only fixed weapons are two beam sabers, but it can carry a vulcan pod, a shield, a beam rifle, a hyper bazooka and a clay bazooka if necessary.
