SNAA Model Kits: Every Series, Every Kit, and What to Build First

Updated 2026/06/01 with SC-010 Furious Warhammer Galahad full details

If you've spent any time looking at third-party mecha kits, you've seen the name SNAA. It shows up in Reddit threads, Facebook groups, product listings - usually attached to some knight-themed 1/144 kit that looks way too detailed for its price tag. And then you try to actually learn something about the brand in English and hit a wall of product pages that tell you nothing. It's like trying to read instructions printed on a runner - technically there, practically useless.

So here's everything in one place. Every SNAA series, every kit released to date, what's actually good, what's rough around the edges, and where to start if you're buying your first one.

SNAA model kit brand guide - Round Table Knights 1/144 mecha lineup

Who Is SNAA?

SNAA is a sub-brand of Supernova (超新星), a Chinese model kit manufacturer that reformed its team and relaunched in April 2022. Where other third-party brands like Motor Nuclear lean into Chinese mythology or IN ERA+ goes full military-industrial, SNAA carved out a specific lane: Western fantasy mecha. Knights, kings, medieval weaponry - filtered through sharp mechanical design.

They work across two scales - 1/100 and 1/144 - but it's the smaller scale that made them famous. More on that in a moment.

SNAA first showed up on the radar with the Hunt and Kill Hunting Falcon. It received pretty harsh feedback from the Chinese building community on launch - the main complaint was that the effect parts came out too blue compared to the original artwork. What happened next is what made the brand worth watching: SNAA listened. They followed up with a Revived version that addressed the color issues along with several other problems the community had flagged. For a brand-new manufacturer, that kind of responsiveness was unusual - and it set the tone for how SNAA has operated since.

The Round Table Knights: SNAA's 1/144 Flagship Line

This is the series that made SNAA a household name in the third-party mecha world. The concept: twelve original mecha designs based on Arthurian legend - Lancelot, Percival, Tristan, Gawain - each with a full inner frame, detailed color separation, and a medieval knight aesthetic layered over clean mechanical engineering. SNAA calls this their "BE" (Beyond Exquisite) line, and it's essentially their answer to Bandai's Real Grade format at 1/144 scale.

The twelve knights are divided into three tiers of four, each representing a different combat role and complexity level: Gale (speed units), Iron Cavalry (heavy assault), and Sanctuary (elite/specialized). As of mid-2026, nine of the twelve have been released, with the Gale tier complete and the Iron Cavalry and Sanctuary tiers still filling out.

The pricing on these kits is genuinely hard to believe if you're coming from Bandai. Most fall between $25 and $35, and every single one includes a complete inner frame, water slide decals, and enough weapons to arm a small battalion. For context, a Bandai RG kit with comparable detail density runs $30-$45 and rarely includes water slides or display bases.

Gale Tier - The Speed Knights (All Four Released)

The Gale tier was SNAA's opening statement for the Round Table Knights, and watching the progression across these four kits is like watching a brand figure out its identity in real time.

Incise Grace (SC-001) was the kit that started the hype. Released in January 2024, it was SNAA's proof of concept - a full inner frame 1/144 kit at an almost suspiciously low price. It comes with dual arm blades and a large back-mounted weapon system. Honest assessment: the design has some roughness. Assembly fit was inconsistent, small color-separation parts were fiddly to work with, and it's the most basic-looking of the lineup. But as a first attempt at this format, it showed SNAA understood what builders actually wanted - structure, detail, and value. Incise Grace is hard to find now - partly because people bought them to see what the fuss was about, and partly because third-party manufacturers rarely reprint older kits. This is true across the category, not just SNAA. Once a run sells through, there's no guarantee it comes back.

Gods Guardian Gawain (SC-002/003) landed in July 2024 and represented a clear step forward. Standing about 15cm tall, it added molded gold parts for richer visual layering and was where SNAA first introduced special effect parts into the Round Table Knights series - the translucent blue light-wing pieces that fan out from the backpack are genuinely dramatic for a kit at this price. SNAA also started implementing under gate design here, which makes nub cleanup significantly easier. A KK designer color edition swaps the blue for grey and yellow for pre-painted gold, if you prefer a more subdued palette. Worth noting: Gawain uses a white/blue/gold color combination that also appears across several other SNAA kits.

Aegis Knight Achilles (SC-003/004) came in November 2024. This is the defensive specialist of the group - dual swords, dual shields, and a mechanical arm backpack. It shares its inner frame with Incise Grace, and structurally the Gale-tier knights do share a family resemblance. But Achilles at least breaks from the white/blue/gold palette that dominates the rest of the lineup - the purple and orange color scheme gives it more visual presence, and the color separation between armor panels is easier to appreciate at a glance. Of the Gale tier, it's the one that stands out the most visually.

Giant Axe Lancelot (SC-005) arrived in January 2025 and rounds out the Gale tier. Another all-new frame, and this time SNAA finally switched the yellow accent parts to pre-painted gold - a small change that makes a real difference in shelf presence. The kit offers two antenna options (standard fins or dramatic bull horns), a transparent cape attachment, an axe, hunting equipment, and an expandable gold armor piece. The catch: while the bare frame has excellent articulation, the outer armor panels lock down arm and knee range of motion significantly. You'll want to plan your pose before fully armoring it up.

Iron Cavalry Tier - The Heavy Knights (Three of Four Released)

Iron Sickie Kai (SC-004) dropped in December 2024, and this is the kit that put SNAA on the community radar. That massive scythe caught people's attention in a way the previous kits hadn't - it was the first design in the lineup with a genuinely distinctive silhouette. Even the name helped: "Sickie" is almost certainly a misspelling of "Sickle," but SNAA printed it and shipped it, and the name stuck. It became a minor meme in hobby circles, which honestly did more for brand awareness than any marketing could have. The design itself is bulkier and more overtly medieval in its armor plating, with a presence that feels heavier on the shelf - fitting for the Iron Cavalry tier. The inner frame is entirely new tooling. Assembly is notably tight (be careful with shoulder and hip joints), and the predominantly white color scheme divided opinions - but it also sparked a wave of custom paint jobs from the community.

Iron Sickie became the most sought-after kit in the series on the secondary market due to its rarity.

The Great Sword Tristan (SC-006) followed in July 2025 with the Titan Greatsword - a huge sword that gives the kit serious visual weight. The Oathblade is hidden inside the shield, which is a nice gimmick. Design-wise, this might be the most well-proportioned kit in the entire Round Table Knights lineup. The body ratios feel balanced and the silhouette is clean. The downside? The color scheme is nearly identical to Lancelot - white, teal, gold, transparent cape. If you're displaying multiple Round Table Knights together, the similar palettes are worth keeping in mind.

Soul Spear Lamorak (SC-008) released in January 2026. A versatile unit armed with a lance (which splits into a ranged weapon), a pulse shield with integrated laser cannon, and a battle axe. It offers two face options - a standard dual-eye visor and a single-eye knight visor. Improved waist and hip articulation give it some of the best posability in the series. Structurally it shares some visual DNA with Iron Sickie Kai and Aegis Knight Achilles, but the red and white color palette sets it apart from the white/blue/gold that dominates much of the lineup.

Sanctuary Tier - The Elite Knights (Two of Four Released)

The Divine Invoker Percival (SC-007, SC-009 for Deluxe Edition) is the current showpiece of the line. Released in November 2025 in both a standard edition and a deluxe edition, this Sanctuary-class kit is a speed-type unit with seven different swords and a ring-shaped effect part that lets you create a dramatic "sword formation" display. The deluxe version includes the full sword array, a particle cloak, and a weapon display platform. White, blue, and purple with gold accents. The design does lean heavily into sharp, pointed elements across both the body and weapons, so handle accordingly.

Furious Warhammer Galahad (SC-010) is the newest addition to the Round Table Knights, releasing June 2026. This one is hard to miss. Galahad is the heaviest, most heavily armored kit in the lineup - a tank-class heavy assault unit with a horned knight helmet, layered shoulder armor, and reinforced leg plating. The primary weapon is an oversized battle axe with a broad crescent blade, and the arm-mounted shield rounds out the melee loadout. But the real standout is the assault hoverboard - a ride-on base unit that makes Galahad the only Round Table Knight with a dedicated vehicle. At approximately 18cm tall before mounting on the hoverboard, the combined display footprint is the largest of any 1/144 Round Table Knight to date. At $33, it's also one of the more affordable entries in the series despite the added vehicle.

What's Still Coming

The Round Table Knights roadmap calls for twelve total units. The Gale tier is complete. Iron Cavalry needs one more, and Sanctuary needs two more. SNAA has been releasing at a steady pace so far, but there's no confirmed timeline for the remaining three kits.

The Emperor Series: SNAA's 1/100 Premium Line

If the Round Table Knights are SNAA's accessible entry point, the Emperor Series is the premium tier. These are 1/100 scale kits - comparable in size to a Bandai Master Grade - with full inner frames, extensive weapon loadouts, and significantly higher part counts. They're aimed at builders who want a more involved project and a bigger shelf presence.

Blade King (YR-02) was the first Emperor Series release in January 2024. Standard red/yellow/blue/white hero colors with multiple blade combinations in silver and clear red. The shield can be reconfigured into multiple formations, and the kit comes with a display base and water slides. Assembly fit is generally solid, though the instructions have some minor clarity issues and certain joints run tight. The armor panels feature sharp, angled surfaces that give the kit a clean look on display.

Martial Emperor (YR-03) followed in July 2024 with a heavier silhouette and more aggressive weapon loadout than the Blade King. It features dual backpack options, spiked armaments, and three swappable face masks that give it a different character depending on which one you install. The kit ships with an action base, though it sits on the shorter side for posed displays.

Fire Lord (YR-04) arrived in March 2025 and is the largest-scope Emperor Series entry to date. Knight-style design with champagne gold pre-painted armor over a white base. What makes this kit stand out is the sheer volume of translucent green flame effect parts - they attach across the body, cape, weapons, and backpack to create a full "azure flame" look. With everything installed, it's a dramatic shelf piece. Without the flame parts, you'll notice the empty attachment holes across the armor, so this is a kit that really wants to be displayed fully loaded. The weapon list is long: spears, shields, swords, flame daggers, a cape, and a mechanical arm backpack.

The Fire Lord Phantom Flame Soul Ver. Limited Edition (also YR-04) is a premium color variant released in November 2025. It replaces the standard color scheme with iridescent silver and titanium-silver pre-painted armor, and swaps the green flame effects for purple and blue. Notably, SNAA kept the price the same as the standard version despite the upgraded finishes.

Nether Emperor (YR-05) takes a different approach from the rest of the Emperor line. Released in November 2025, it's a slimmer, more mobile kit that prioritizes posability over raw part count. Where the Fire Lord can feel locked in once all the armor and flame parts are on, the Nether Emperor stays flexible. The color scheme is white with teal and orange accents, and it includes a ghost-face mask option alongside a laser gun, extendable blade, and bayonet. At $50, it's also the most affordable Emperor Series kit.

The Star Soul Series: Where It All Started

Before either of those lines existed, SNAA debuted in 2022 with the Star Soul Series - a 1/100 scale kit called the Hunt and Kill Hunting Falcon - angular design, sharp effect parts, and a straightforward frame. Only two kits were ever released in this series: the original and a "Revived" version in May 2023 with a reworked color scheme.

Think of these as SNAA's starting point. The kits lean on water decals to fill in visual detail. Both are out of stock at most retailers now. They're a snapshot of where the brand began, but the Emperor Series and Round Table Knights represent a very different level of output.

Where to Start: Picking Your First SNAA Kit

If you've never built a third-party kit before, the Round Table Knights line is the natural starting point. The 1/144 scale keeps the build manageable, the price keeps the commitment low, and you're getting a lot of kit for the money - full inner frame, water slides, weapons, and effect parts at a price range that's hard to argue with.

From what's currently available, here's where to look depending on what you're after.

The Aegis Knight Achilles at $35 is a solid first SNAA build. Dual combat modes, a decent weapon set, nothing too complicated. Think of it as the "let me see what these kits are about" option.

The Divine Invoker Percival Deluxe Edition, also $35, is for the person who looked at Achilles and said "yeah, but more swords." Seven of them, plus a particle cloak and a weapon display platform that lets you set up the full sword formation. You get more than what you wished for at that price.

If you want something with a completely different profile, the Furious Warhammer Galahad at $33 is the heavy assault option - oversized battle axe, arm shield, and a ride-on assault hoverboard that none of the other Round Table Knights have.

If 1/144 feels too small, the Nether Emperor (YR-05) at $50 is a clean entry into the Emperor Series without the part count commitment of the bigger kits. And the Fire Lord Phantom Flame Soul Ver. at $80 is the flagship - iridescent armor, a full flame-effect weapon set, and one of the more impressive shelf pieces in the third-party space right now.

Three more Round Table Knights are still in the pipeline, and SNAA hasn't announced a timeline for them. But if you've been seeing the name pop up and wondering what the deal is, hopefully this clears things up. The lineup is still growing, and there's enough variety across the two scales to find something that fits what you're looking for.
