The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam (aka Strike Freedom, Freedom) is the successor of the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam. Introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, it is piloted by Kira Yamato. A mobile suit tuned to meet Kira Yamato's needs, the Strike Freedom has Variable Phase Shift armor, and like its predecessor, ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, is primarily armed with powerful ranged weapons. Its armaments include head-mounted CIWS, an abdomen-mounted multi-phase beam cannon, hip-mounted railguns, combine-able beam sabers and beam rifles, DRAGOON pods controlled by the new Super DRAGOON system and beam shields. It is powered by the new Hyper-Deuterion Engine, and is also equipped with the Neutron Jammer Canceler and the Voiture Lumiere propulsion system.Due to Kira's stellar piloting, his mobile suit is rarely hit during combat and thus Strike Freedom's design emphasizes maneuverability over its armor's defensive capabilities, though beam shields were installed as a compensatory defensive measure. As a result, its armor is split into smaller pieces to improve the movement range of the joints (a similar armor-splitting system was also implemented in ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam). To compensate for exposing more of its internal parts, the suit's internal skeleton and joints adopted PS armor materials. When these parts phase-shift, they gain strength and near human flexibility. Additionally, excess residual energy within the body can be discharged through the joints' glowing effects.The internal PS armor materials also help to withstand the massive output and Gs caused by the Hyper Deuterion engine and the new propulsion system, playing a role in increasing Strike Freedom's mobility. However, the main contributor to the MS's superior mobility are the mobile weapon wings, which can be deployed in the "High Mobility Aerial Tactics (HiMAT)" Mode to enhance the suit's mobility in the atmosphere or in space. The wings also features a variant of the "Voiture Lumiere" propulsion system, which can generate a visual effect called the "Wings of the Skies" similar to ZGMF-X42S Destiny's Wings of Light and is used as a means of high speed movement.The Strike Freedom's Super DRAGOONs are based on ZAFT's second generation DRAGOON system, with additional unique modifications. Designed for Kira's use, they allow him to hit more targets at once using the Multi Lock-On System and Full Burst Mode as compared to when he was piloting the original Freedom. They also grant Kira the ability to hit the enemy from multiple directions remotely. Like the Freedom, Strike Freedom is designed to operate alongside another mobile suit, in this case, the ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam and is stationed on board the warship Eternal. It also has full flight capabilities in the atmosphere and can dock with the METEOR unit to further augment its firepower.

The RX-104FF Penelope (RX-104FF ペーネロペー?) is a mobile suit that appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway movie . It was piloted by Lane Aim of the Earth Federation Forces' Circe Unit . In U.C. 0105, in response to Mafty's anti-Federation activities and assassinations of Federation bureaucrats, the Circe Unit was ordered to capture and destroy the members of Mafty. Hathaway's Ξ Gundam and Lane's Penelope, two Gundam-type mobile suits, confronted each other on Earth . The RX-104FF Penelope was a mode where the RX-104 Odysseus Gundam was equipped with the FF (Fixed Flight) unit. It was classified as a fifth-generation MS alongside the RX-105 Ξ Gundam, which was developed around the same time. The MS was unique due to its capability to achieve independent flight and was considered to be an MS that would greatly change the course of mobile suit operations under gravity. These functions largely depended on the FF Unit, while the Ξ Gundam had a different structure that integrated all of the functions into a single MS. In addition to the FF unit, it was said that an optional armament known as the Argos Unit was developed but its details were unknown. It was also said to be equipped with a Psycommu or Quasi-Psycommu unit. The MS was also capable of supersonic flight by deploying a Beam Barrier in its direction of movement, but this required the MS to transform into its Flight Form .

The RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern is the upgraded space-use version of the RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes". Introduced in the anime OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, it is piloted by Kou Uraki. The RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" was designed to operate in both Earth and Space by using the appropriate Core Fighter and although the space-use unit was ready, the suit was unfortunately wrecked before it could be fitted on. The damaged GP01 was recovered and the engineers of Anaheim Electronics gave it a massive overhaul while repairing it, creating the RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern, which is designed for space combat. The renovation process was completed in two days, with operational testing carried out at Anaheim Electronics's Livermore factory.Its armor is more streamlined for better mobility in space, and thrusters are mounted in the chest, shoulders and legs. The air-intakes on the chest are replaced with reverse thrusters, with the covers expanding during use. The shoulder armor now contains shoulder vernier pods, and added thrusters are attached to the back of the legs and the soles. Propellant tanks are built into the shins to further extend the suit's operating time. The backpack is equipped with built-in generators and also has the most noticeable addition: the two Universal Boost Pods. The Universal Boost Pods allow the Full Burnern to have superior acceleration and mobility when compared to other units at that time. As a result, the pilot has to contend with high G-forces due to overwhelming acceleration.

The MS-09 Dom (aka MS-09B Dom) is a mass-production ground combat mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam. Its most well known pilots are the Black Tri-Stars. A heavy mobile suit developed by Zimmad, the MS-09 Dom was a ground combat machine equipped with hovercraft technology. It was fitted with thermonuclear jets and rockets under its feet, allowing it to quickly move across the ground, greatly improving its mobility compared to previous ground-use mobile suits. Thanks to sensors located in front of its feet, it was able to traverse uneven terrain. While in cruising mode, it could hover across the ground using only its thermonuclear jets. The Dom can hover at a maximum speed of 381 km/hr for up to 5 hours.Its primary thrusters adopted the Saturn Engine, a type of thermonuclear engine that used heavy elements such as zinc and lead as propellant, granting it higher thrust than thermonuclear engines that used lighter elements as propellant. The mobile suit's design was largely unchanged from the YMS-09 Prototype Dom aside from its appearance. It inherited the same cross-shaped monoeye rail from the MS-07C-5 Gouf Test Prototype, granting it an improved view of aerial targets. Lateral field of view was obtained by auxiliary sensors.For defense, the Dom was heavily protected, adopting a unique "skirt armor" design to protect weak points in the back, such as thrusters. Its cockpit hatch armor, which was its greatest weakness in the front, was also greatly enhanced. However, since the cockpit was entered directly from the front of the Dom, pilots in desert and wetland areas complained that the console panel would become dirty from entering and exiting. Meanwhile, the Dom's head was merged into its chest, a design intended to deflect and ricochet enemy projectiles, as well as lowering the possibility of being hit.The Dom's primary weapon, the 360mm Giant Bazooka, was developed in parallel with the mobile suit. It was capable of sinking a space cruiser with a single shot. It was also armed with a heat saber for close combat, as well as a scattering beam cannon in its chest, which was capable of blinding the enemy. It was said that the beam cannon was originally intended to be an energy port for beam weapons, but was repurposed after the development of beam weapons was delayed.

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (ユニコーン ガンダム Yunikōn Gandamu?, or Unicorn, Unicorn Gundam 01, Singularity One) is the titular prototype mobile suit of the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novel, its OVA adaptation and the television re-cut. Developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation, it concealed a secret that could shake the future of all humanity, for it was the key to opening Laplace's Box. It is piloted by Banagher Links after the head of the Vist Foundation and his father, Cardeas Vist, entrusted it to him at the dawn of the Third Neo Zeon War in U.C. 0096.

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee (aka Banshee) is a mobile suit that appears in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. It is built alongside its brother unit, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, under the Earth Federation's UC Project. Originally piloted by Marida Cruz, it was later assigned to Riddhe Marcenas. After its completion alongside the Unicorn Gundam, the Banshee was eventually stationed on Earth with the Augusta Research Lab and tested for atmospheric combat. Rather than that of a Unicorn, the Banshee's motif is that of a lion, illustrated with gold accents on the forehead, a golden collar to signify a lion's mane (the Banshee originally had the same collar as the Unicorn but this was changed after it suffered damages while battling in space), and a much more elaborate horn/V-fin.The Banshee's armor is almost entirely black, and its psycho-frame emits a golden-orange glow when the NT-D is activated. Although the Banshee lacks the Unicorn's distinctive La+ System, its performance in atmospheric combat is vastly superior, presumably because of a significant reconfiguring of the suit's operating system to account for Earth's gravity and the atmosphere's frictional resistance.Combat improvements were made according to Unicorn Gundam's battle data, which had been relayed to the Augusta Research Lab. However, the two Gundams have no major operating differences. Aside from lacking the Unicorn's La+ operating system, the Banshee's raw performance is equal to that of the Unicorn. In other words, any modification to the Banshee (i.e. atmospheric combat performance) could also be applied to the Unicorn, making both suits equal in ability.In the anime version, it weighs more than Unit 1 and has a larger effective sensor radius. Its armament also differs from that of Unit 1, as it is equipped with the added psycho-frame armaments "Armed Armor BS" and "Armed Armor VN", granting it better continuous battle capability than Unit 1, and it is said to have a higher degree of completion.

Guel's Dilanza (ディランザ グエル専用機 Diranza Gueru Sen'yō-ki?) is a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury. It is piloted by Guel Jeturk. Among the basic MS Dilanza units developed by Jeturk Heavy Machinery, a number have been customized for their pilots. One of these has been modified to suit the piloting style of Guel Jeturk, heir to the company. Its outward appearance has also been tailored to fit Guel's penchant for the ostentatious. Painted in a vivid magenta and fitted with a decorative headpiece, this unit embodies the skill and unshakable self-confidence which made Guel, Asticassia's best pilot. It gives the impression that no other unit could be worthy of such a pilot.

The RX-0[N] Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee Norn (aka Banshee Norn) is an upgraded variant of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee that appears in the OVA version of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. The unit is piloted by Riddhe Marcenas. The Banshee Norn is an upgraded version of the Banshee with improved performance, assigned to Londo Bell pilot Riddhe Marcenas. The unit itself remains unchanged from the upgrades, with only the Armed Armors BS and VN replaced by two new equipment, the Armed Armor DE and Armed Armor XC. The Banshee Norn's primary ranged weapon is the Beam Magnum but with a new attachment, the Revolving Launcher. In Destroy Mode, the Armed Armor XC opens and rotates up, giving the Banshee Norn a lion-like look.

The ν Gundam is one of the most advanced mobile suits during the Second Neo Zeon War in U.C. 0093, together with Char Aznable's MSN-04 Sazabi, it is used by Amuro Ray who also came up with its basic design. It was manufactured at Anaheim Electronics' Von Braun plant and completed in a short period of time (about three months) under the supervision of chief engineer October Saran. Its design is based on the average specification values of each successive generation of Gundam-type units from the original RX-78-2 Gundam to the MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam and updated with state-of-the-art technologies introduced at the time. Various test data collected from the ARX-014P Silver Bullet (Funnel Test Type), the YRA-90A μ Gundam, and the RX-9 Narrative Gundam were also used in its development.The ν Gundam's design focuses on versatility and operational aspects, as well as emphasizes on reliability and durability for protracted battles. It adopts unitized parts that are designed according to EFF standards, except for the Psycho-Frame, for easier procurement of parts and materials and reducing special components as much as possible. It can be easily repaired due to maintenance feedback and combat data. In addition, it reflects Amuro Ray's experience as an MS pilot cultivated over the years.Incorporating the Psycho-Frame technology secretly provided to Anaheim Electronics by Char Aznable of Neo Zeon, the ν Gundam was able to utilize Psycommu weapons and channel the emotions and mental energies of a Newtype pilot. It is also the first Gundam-type machine to be equipped with Funnels, and a newly developed MS control program is installed to account for the ν Gundam's center of mass during the separation and movement of the Funnels. Despite its short development time, the ν Gundam proved itself to be a formidable mobile suit and when combined with legendary ace pilot Amuro Ray's immense skill and experience, this powerful, state-of-the-art machine was able to almost single-handedly hold back the whole Neo Zeon force, and its Psycho-Frame was put to the test to determine the history of humanity living on earth.

The Astray Red Frame Kai is the upgraded version of the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame developed and piloted by Lowe Guele. It first appeared in the photo series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED VS Astray. An upgraded form of MBF-P02 Astray Red Frame developed by Lowe after his first encounter with LN-GAT-X207 Nebula Blitzs, the major change to the suit is the replacement of the Red Frame's backpack with Tactical Arms IIL and its mount. Besides the two head-mounted "Igelstellung" 75mm multi-barrel CIWS, Tactical Arms IIL and "Gerbera Straight" katana, Red Frame Kai is also equipped with "Tiger Pierce" Katana. It no longer uses the physical shield and the beam torch component of Tactical Arms IIL replaces the Type 71 beam rifle.Like MBF-P03R Gundam Astray Blue Frame 2nd Revise's Tactical Arms II, Tactical Arms IIL can also transform into multiple forms, with each form granting Red Frame Kai unique abilities. Compared to Blue Frame 2nd R's Tactical Arms II, Tactical Arms IIL only retains the Sword form and a slightly altered Flight form. The other 4 forms, Arrow form, Work form, V form, and Delta form are new.Other than these different forms, Tactical Arms IIL can also function as a "Maga no Ikutachi" Energy Absorption Claw and as a DRAGOON. The beam torch component can be detached and used as a welding tool or a beam rifle by adjusting its output. Tactical Arms IIL is a product of all Lowe's knowledge however its multiple forms and functions also increase the chance of it malfunctioning and make its maintenance difficult.

The GNT-0000 00 Qan[T] (aka 00Q, 00 Qan[T], pronounced "Double-Oh Quanta") is the successor to the GN-0000+GNR-010 00 Raiser in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Movie: Awakening of the Trailblazer. It is piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei.A fifth Generation Gundam designed and tuned specifically for Celestial Being's first Innovator, Gundam Meister Setsuna F. Seiei, 00 Qan[T] is the latest mobile suit (MS) designed by Celestial Being. Its blueprints originated from an Innovators draft and were sent over from Veda/Tieria (with level 7 clearance) for Celestial Being engineers to analyze and develop. As the successor to GN-0000+GNR-010 00 Raiser, 00 Qan[T] contains an upgraded and improved Twin Drive System and possesses the new Quantum System. Whereas Zabanya and Harute were developed using parts from their predecessors, 00 Qan[T]'s was made as a new mobile suit. The development resources and focus used on 00 Qan[T] are of a higher level than the other two.The unit possesses two newly created GN Drives specifically made for its Twin Drive System. The drives are located on its back and underneath the shield respectively and were developed by a team led by Linda Vashti at Jupiter. As these newly made solar furnaces are developed with perfect synchronization in mind, no external help with stabilization is required, thus 00 Qan[T] does not need a support unit such as 0 Raiser like 00 Gundam did. They can also be directly connected with each other which would result in a higher sync rate and output, however, when used this way they become extremely hard to control. To prevent unexpected problems, they are usually kept separate.The Quantum System is also the successor to 00 Raiser's Trans-Am Burst System, which allows Setsuna to expand his quantum brainwaves. It creates a massive quantum field that extends an Innovator's consciousness to communicate with sentient minds for advanced communications. To activate the system, the Innovator pilot's quantum brainwaves must be active. Once scanned, the two GN Drives connect. Finally, large portions of Qan[T]'s armor is purged, and the condensers within the limbs and the GN Drive core extend beyond the frame of the suit.Like its predecessors (the Exia and 00), 00 Qan[T] is a close combat-oriented mobile suit. Its primary weapon is the GN Sword V, the latest in the line of dual-functioning weapons that can alternate between sword and rifle modes. A GN Shield is mounted over the left shoulder in a similar fashion to one of the GN-0000 00 Gundam's GN Drives. The shield itself can deploy 6 GN Sword Bits (stored on the sides of the shield) which serve many functions but are primarily remote blades. The Sword Bits can be attached to the GN Sword V to form either a powerful buster sword or a buster rifle for combat. For added defense, 00 Qan[T] can deploy a GN Field by placing the 6 Sword Bits in a closed spherical formation and can activate the Trans-Am System to enhance its overall capabilities.00 Qan[T] can quantize like 00 Raiser, but with improvements over the original, it is now able to execute this function at will. Unlike 00 Raiser, 00 Qan[T] is capable of quantizing not only for short distances, but all the way across the universe, which was shown when it teleported to the ELS homeworld on the far side of another galaxy. 00 Qan[T]'s Sword Bits have the ability to form a portal and aid in the process. This similar function is also present in GNW-100A Sakibure which appeared 50 years after the end of the movie.The headpiece of the 00 Qan[T] acts as a controlling device for the Sword Bits. The particle-controlling capabilities of the antennae have yet again improved, allowing the 00 Qan[T] to communicate using Quantum Brainwave interfacing. Ian Vashti has designed the head of the 00 Qan[T] to resemble Setsuna's previous Gundams, the GN-001 Gundam Exia, and the GN-0000 00 Gundam.The arm parts of the 00 Qan[T] were made to allow the 00 Qan[T] to wield it's close combat weapons to the fullest. The wrist joints were made to be so flexible that they actually could move like a human arm. The GN Condensers located within the arms have been improved, allowing GN Particles to be transferred to the weapons more smoothly and effectively than the 00 Raiser's condensers.The leg parts of the 00 Qan[T] have built-in AMBAC (Active Mass Balance Auto-Control) capabilities to allow it to achieve high maneuverability in zero-G conditions. The knee joints of the 00 Qan[T] were made to be as fluid in motion as a real human knee, with GN condensers located in them, which also improved. Some parts of the legs were developed from the GNZ series, while other parts bore massive improvements to the original parts from the 00. The remaining parts were derived from other GN Drive-equipped mobile suits.Being Celestial Being's most advanced MS to date, the 00 Qan[T] is so powerful that it could possibly have eliminated the entire ELS attack force single-handedly had Setsuna chosen not to communicate with them. However, it should be noted that this is just a hypothetical calculation by Veda. It excludes important factors such as ELS' healing abilities, and the physical impossibility of the pilot fighting without food or rest over a whole week of constant battling, making it a very difficult feat to achieve nevertheless.

Various test data collected from the ARX-014P Silver Bullet (Funnel Test Type), the YRA-90A μ Gundam, and the RX-9 Narrative Gundam were also used in its development.The ν Gundam's design focuses on versatility and operational aspects, as well as emphasizes on reliability and durability for protracted battles. It adopts unitized parts that are designed according to EFF standards, except for the Psycho-Frame, for easier procurement of parts and materials and reducing special components as much as possible. It can be easily repaired due to maintenance feedback and combat data. In addition, it reflects Amuro Ray's experience as an MS pilot cultivated over the years.Incorporating the Psycho-Frame technology secretly provided to Anaheim Electronics by Char Aznable of Neo Zeon, the ν Gundam was able to utilize Psycommu weapons and channel the emotions and mental energies of a Newtype pilot. It is also the first Gundam-type machine to be equipped with Funnels, and a newly developed MS control program is installed to account for the ν Gundam's center of mass during the separation and movement of the Funnels. Despite its short development time, the ν Gundam proved itself to be a formidable mobile suit and when combined with legendary ace pilot Amuro Ray's immense skill and experience, this powerful, state-of-the-art machine was able to almost single-handedly hold back the whole Neo Zeon force, and its Psycho-Frame was put to the test to determine the history of humanity living on earth.

The RX-77-2 Guncannon was a mobile suit used by the Earth Federation Forces introduced in the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam. A middle-range support mobile suit developed simultaneously with the RX-78 Gundam and the RX-75 Guntank as part of Operation V, the Guncannon adopted the same Core Block System as the other two units. Due to its role as an artillery support unit, the Guncannon's design prioritized durability over mobility, and it was not equipped with any melee weapons. However, its armor was particularly heavy, capable of surviving a direct hit from an MS-09R Rick Dom's giant bazooka.Similar to the Guntank, the Guncannon's main weapons were a pair of shell-firing cannons, chosen for their reliability over beam weapons. These cannons could be optionally swapped out for a pair of spray missile launchers. Unlike the Guntank, however, the Guncannon's generator output allowed it to equip a beam rifle. It was also equipped with a pair of head-mounted Vulcan guns and hand grenades for attacking enemy strongholds.Though its head design appeared to be simpler than the Gundam's head, the Guncannon's sensor system was in fact more complicated than the Gundam's due to its need to engage in artillery warfare. This "twin eyes with goggles" sensor design were later inherited by the RGM-79 GM. While the Guncannon's mobility was adversely affected by its weight, it was still comparable to that of the Zeon's MS-06 Zaku II. Furthermore, the backpack thrusters have sufficient thrust to enable jumping maneuvers under gravity for a short period of time.

The GN-0000+GNR-010 00 Raiser (aka 00 Raiser) is the combined form of GN-0000 00 Gundam and GNR-010 0 Raiser in season 2 of Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Setsuna F. Seiei pilots the 00 Gundam and Saji Crossroad pilots the 0 Raiser, however, when combined Setsuna can operate both units himself. Despite its power, the GN-0000 00 Gundam is a highly experimental unit that suffers from power instability issues and so requires constant maintenance and fine-tuning. The Twin Drive System was also a very new technology, requiring the external stabilizing equipment on 00's main support unit, the GNR-010 0 Raiser, to safely execute Trans-Am and fully synchronize the GN Drives. Some data from GN-XXX+GNR-000 Sefer Rasiel was also exploited in its development.When combining is needed, laser guidance sensors would mutually lock onto each other, with a Haro auto-configuring the docking sequence. 0 Raiser's binders detach from the 0 Raiser body and latch onto 00's GN Drives, and its main body combines with the 00 Gundam's backpack, resulting in an angelic-like form. After successful docking, 00 Gundam's system screen(s) reflect the changes to the frame and the Twin Drive's stabilization. Each of 0 Raiser's binders can be mounted with a GN Shield to increase it's defensive capabilities, this form can remain the same even when docked onto 00 Gundam's GN Drive housing units. Without the GN Shields attached, the binders also act as shields themselves, capable of blocking beam shots from GNZ-003 Gadessa's GN Mega Launcher in Trans-Am mode.As the 00 Raiser the Twin Drive reaches 100% synchronization rate, it can achieve GN Particle generation rates far exceeding 300% during Trans-Am(700% during the first dock), and also gains the usage of the Raiser System. These feats allow 00 Raiser to fully harness its massive particle production (too much for the 00's frame to properly handle alone) and perform at peak capacity. While in Trans-Am, 00 Raiser has also been seen utilizing quantum teleportation in a few battles although the specific activation and control mechanism has not been elaborated upon.The Raiser System allows the 00 Raiser to execute powerful attacks such as a massive GN Beam Saber dubbed the "Raiser Sword", allowing for greater close combat abilities, and using Trans-Am mode with even greater power and duration. Originally requiring both of its GN Swords working with the 0 Raiser's binders to produce and control the Raiser Sword, the 00 was later equipped with a GN Sword III. This weapon was capable of harnessing the power of the Raiser System to generate a refined, more controllable version of the Raiser Sword.The power of 00 Raiser is further enhanced with the presence of an Innovator pilot. Once such a being is detected the Twin Drive can execute Trans-Am Burst, a massive flood of purified GN Particles across a massive area. With the Twin Drive's full abilities in constant demand to combat the A-Laws and Innovators, 00 Raiser became the mainstay unit to effectively combat opposing MS. Overall, 00 Raiser is a mobile suit that exceeds the performance of all others, surpassing the very concept of "Gundam".

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex[1] (aka Phenex) is a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam UC: One of Seventy Two. It also appears in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. 0096: Last Sun and the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novel. It makes its animated debut in the movie Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative, which succeeds the events of the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn OVA, and is piloted by Rita Bernal. The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex was a new machine secretly built under the direction of a EFSF official who disapproved of the Vist Foundation's involvement in the UC Project. Using a psycho-frame body delivered in advance, it was assembled independently by the Earth Federation Forces and reflects the data of Units 1 and 2. Rather than that of a Unicorn, the Phenex's motif is that of a phoenix, illustrated with a much more elaborate horn/V-fin and a golden body.

The MS-07B Gouf is a mass production close-quarters combat ground mobile suit. It was first featured in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. The MS-07B Gouf is designed specifically for Earth-based, close-quarter MS combat. It featured much-improved mobility with a powerful backpack and leg-mounted thrusters for jet-assisted jumps based on the YMS-08A High Mobility Test Type. For armaments, it has the 5-barrel 75mm machine gun in its left hand and a heat rod, which could be used as a superheated slicing weapon or as a grappling weapon with a powerful electric shock effect. It also had a powerful heat sword stored within a shield, and could also use the standard Zaku II weapons, such as the 120mm machine gun or the 280mm bazooka.The Gouf outclassed the MS-06 Zaku II in terms of speed, power output, and melee combat ability, but its overall performance was not great enough to be justified by its increased cost. The Gouf's production was cut short by the development of a more cost efficient unit, the more powerful and nimble MS-09B Dom. Despite its very short production run, several variations were produced in limited numbers and it was still deployed across the world alongside Zakus and Doms. One customized unit was piloted by Visch Donahue, which had the original 5-fingered machine gun left hand replaced by a normal manipulator hand, in its place a 3-barrel 35mm machine gun was mounted on the left forearm.

The MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom is an upgraded variant of the MS-07B Gouf that was introduced shortly after the MS-09B Dom. It first appeared in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. During the deployment of the Gouf, its limited combat versatility became evident with its design concept of emphasis on hand-to-hand combat. Numerous disadvantages surfaced during operation on the battlefield, such as lack of flexibility due to the Gouf's fixed armament. The Gouf would be completely redesigned as the MS-07B-3, which was an improvement over the original. The Gouf Custom was designed with improved close quarters shooting and detachable weapons. It was designed primarily for ace pilots preferring a lighter mobile suit that could leap and jump as opposed to the heavy, yet effective MS-09B Dom.The Gouf Custom featured multiple changes to the MS-07B, including the elimination of the awkward five finger 75mm machine guns, replacing it with a normal manipulator and a wrist mounted 3-barrel 35mm Machine gun. The coil-like heat rod is replaced with a magnetic grappler wire that connects and disables an enemy with an electric charge rather than damaging them. The grappler wire could also be used as a repelling line that could slow or even halt the descent of a falling Gouf in the right conditions. The shield of the Gouf was modified so that it not only stored the Gouf's heat sword but is also capable of carrying a 75mm gatling gun, greatly enhancing the mobile suit's fire power.
