The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam (ユニコーン ガンダム Yunikōn Gandamu?, or Unicorn, Unicorn Gundam 01, Singularity One) is the titular prototype mobile suit of the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novel, its OVA adaptation and the television re-cut. The viewpoint is that of the mobile suit's head, and the image is carefully edited to remove the mobile suit itself. The linear seat is suspended in the center of the cockpit, supported by a linear arm which electromagnetically counters G-forces and impact shocks in order to protect the pilot. Together, the panoramic screen and the linear seat gives the pilot a larger field of view and eliminates blind spots.The most notable flaw of the Gundam Mk-II is that it is armored using the obsolete titanium alloy ceramic composite. Another flaw is that the movable frame's leg sections have rigidity issues associated with the strength of the structural material used, and this problem persisted even after six design revisions. Despite this, for a brief time period, the Gundam Mk-II's movable frame makes it one of the most agile mobile suits available. Three Gundam Mk-II were produced in total. They were later stolen by the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) and given a new paint scheme. Despite being used by two different factions, the Gundam Mk-II's weaponry remains mostly unchanged. The RX-75 Guntank , also known as the RX-75-4 Guntank , is a mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Gundam television series.The RX-75 Guntank was the first prototype Earth Federation Forces mobile suit developed by Operation V. However, it was said to be closer to a tank rather than a mobile suit. A number of companies such as Takim and Hervic participated in its development. The Guntank had the torso and arms of a mobile suit, but possessed caterpillar treads for legs. Initially, it was designed to be piloted by a crew of two, with a gunner in the canopy-style cockpit on the head and a driver in another cockpit in the torso. However, it was later changed to be controlled by a single pilot in the canopy-style cockpit. Like all "Operation V" mobile suits, the Guntank used the Core Block System.Its reactor is a hybrid type of nuclear reactors and gas turbines, and its output is insufficient for powering beam weapons. The Guntank's main weapons are twin 120mm cannons, which are effective at long and medium ranges. Its arms have four-barrel missile launchers instead of hands, and they provided good cover fire against enemy tanks and aircraft, but are less effective against enemy mobile suits. A major flaw of the Guntank is its inability to turn its torso, making it difficult to aim the cannons at moving targets, as the Guntank must reposition itself. Another major flaw is that its design was primarily for ground combat, resulting in it having poor maneuverability in space.

The RX-77-2 Guncannon was a mobile suit used by the Earth Federation Forces introduced in the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam. A middle-range support mobile suit developed simultaneously with the RX-78 Gundam and the RX-75 Guntank as part of Operation V, the Guncannon adopted the same Core Block System as the other two units. Due to its role as an artillery support unit, the Guncannon's design prioritized durability over mobility, and it was not equipped with any melee weapons. However, its armor was particularly heavy, capable of surviving a direct hit from a MS-09R Rick Dom's giant bazooka.Similar to the Guntank, the Guncannon's main weapons were a pair of shell-firing cannons, chosen for their reliability over beam weapons. These cannons could be optionally swapped out for a pair of spray missile launchers. Unlike the Guntank, however, the Guncannon's generator output allowed it to equip a beam rifle. It also appears briefly in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin OVA and the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin Advent of the Red Comet television series, and again in the Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island movie. It was piloted by Amuro Ray during the One Year War. Its estimate generator output was from 1000kW to 1400kW, its target output was to be at least 150% of the RCX-76.The operation tests of the RX-78-02, a prototype MS of the Earth Federation, were carried out in secret, but civilian Amuro Ray coincidentally became its pilot when Zeon Forces assaulted Side 7.The RX-78-02 utilizes its wide array of portable weapons such as its beam rifle and hyper bazooka. It also has fixed weaponry such as two shoulder magnums on the left shoulder, a gatling gun on the right shoulder, and a forearm gatling gun on its left arm. It's also possible to swap a beam saber with an optional armament known as the shoulder cannon.Furthermore its unable to transform its Beam Sabers to Beam Javelins, its Gundam Hammer doesn't exist, nor does it use the Core Block System until it was upgraded to have one at Jaburo.As the war progressed to its latter stages, the RX-78-02 was reconfigured into its Late Type/Middle Type form. The MG 1/100 RX-78-4 Gundam Unit 4 is a Master Grade model kit representing the RX-78-4 Gundam Unit 4 from Kunio Okawara's M-MSV design series, featured in "Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Space, To the End of A Flash." This kit includes: Articulated joints allowing for dynamic poses. Weapons including a mega beam launcher, hyper beam rifle, beam saber, and foldable shield. Snap-fit assembly with molded color parts, minimizing the need for painting. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 18 cm tall, making it a notable addition to any Gundam collection.

The RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" (aka Zephyranthes, GP01, Unit 1) is a prototype general-purpose mobile suit introduced in the Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory OVA. It was piloted by Kou Uraki.  Developed as part of the Gundam Development Project, the GP01 was a ground-use general purpose mobile suit intended to be an improvement of the RX-78-2 Gundam, which achieved exceptional battle results during the One Year War. Being an experimental unit, it was equipped with an increased number of sensors, some of which were exposed due to being temporary. Compared to the RX-78, its sensors and balancer were upgraded or redesigned. Overall, the GP01 was designed to allow movement closer to that of a human (a design concept that would eventually evolve into the Movable Frame). In order to ensure the survival of the pilot and the combat data, the GP01 retained the Core Block System. However, to address the RX-78's structural weakness in the stomach, the GP01 adopted an experimental "horizontal in the body" structure instead of the previously used "vertical in the body" structure. The GP01's main generator, main thrusters, and operation and control instruments were all integrated into its FF-XII Core Fighter II. In addition, when docked, the Core Fighter's beam guns serve as the GP01's beam sabers. Thanks to this design, the Core Fighter's propellant, thrusters, and weapons were no longer dead weight when docked. By switching the Core Fighter, the GP01 could operate both on Earth and in space, though additional readjustment and maintenance was still needed. Thanks to this design, despite being a general-purpose mobile suit, its performance rivaled or exceeded dedicated ground-use and space-use mobile suits in both environments.

The RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1, nicknamed Alex, was a Newtype-use mobile suit created by the Earth Federation Forces. It was introduced in the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. By the time of the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon's lead Newtype researcher, Dr. Flanagan, had been conducting his research for more than ten years. In contrast, the Earth Federation Forces only began their Newtype research in August, U.C. 0079. This was because the EFF did not see the military value of Newtypes due to the small number of examples and low replicability.However, concepts similar to Newtype-use unit were still included as part of the RX Project. Based on existing research to improve mobile suit responsiveness, as well as reports from the Newtype pilot Amuro Ray and operating data from the RX-78-2 Gundam, the EFF began the development of a Newtype-use mobile suit with the goal of improved durability and responsiveness. For this purpose, the fourth RX-78 series unit was redesigned as a custom unit for Amuro Ray and received the new model number of RX-78NT-1.The Gundam NT-1's development was carried out by the Augusta Base, originally a facility that researched issues relating to soldiers' mental health, it was chosen because some of its researchers published essays proving the Newtype concept. For additional protection, it was equipped with a set of optional Chobam armor, earning it the nickname "Alex", which was derived from the model number prefix "RX" and the acronym "Armor Layered EXamination", the project name of its armor.To ensure the extra weight from the Chobam armor does not hinder its mobility, the NT-1 was designed with expanded propellant capacity in mind. Inspired by the Zeon concept of using the leg itself as a large vernier unit, it was fitted with propellant tank/sub-thruster hybrid units on its legs. It was also fitted with a large number of additional thrusters, both to improve its mobility and to compensate for the added weight of its armor.Thanks to its magnet coating and the use of a high-speed, large-capacity learning computer more advanced than the one used by the RX-78-2, the NT-1's responsiveness was more than three times that of existing mobile suits. In addition, it was also equipped with a panoramic cockpit and linear seat, two features that would eventually become standard on mobile suits, under the belief that they would enable a Newtype pilot to better make use of their expanded awareness.Finally, based on analysis of combat data from the RX-78-2 Gundam, it was pointed out that the loss or damage of hand-carried weapons may impact the mobile suit's combat ability, so the NT-1 was equipped with a pair of concealed 90mm Gatling Guns in its forearms.

The RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type is a limited production mobile suit introduced in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team OVA. The Gundam Ground Type was one of the early prototypes for the Earth Federation's mobile suit mass production plan, produced in limited numbers before the recovery of the RX-78-2 Gundam's combat data. As its name suggests, it was designed solely for ground combat, and all space-use equipment, as well as the Core Block System, were omitted. This caused the Gundam Ground Type to be lighter, allowing it to rival the performance of the RX-78 while under gravity.In order to save time and cost, the RX-79[G] was constructed using surplus parts for the RX-78. Since the quality of these parts varied greatly, differences in performance became a problem, so a limiter was added in order to ensure stable performance. This limiter can be disengaged, activating a state known as "MAX mode", greatly increasing performance. However, due to the heavy burden placed on the unit, this mode can only be activated for a limited time.Compared to the RX-78, the RX-79[G] featured many design changes. The head-mounted Vulcan guns were omitted in favor of the ability to mount various optional equipment to adapt to different situations, such as extra antennae for long-range communication or a Vulcan pod for enhanced close combat ability. An extendable snorkel camera for enemy searching was mounted on the left side of the head. The beam saber racks were moved from the backpack to the legs, and were changed to an enclosed type to prevent dust from entering. A Vulcan gun and a multi-launcher were mounted on the left side of the chest. Its backpack was designed to mount various equipment, such as a weapon container for carrying various handheld weapons or a parachute pack.The Gundam Ground Type was capable of using beam rifle. However, only a small number of beam rifles were manufactured for it, and few units were equipped with it. As such, its primary ranged weapons were physical projectile weapons, such as the 100mm machine gun and the 180mm cannon. Two spare magazines for the machine gun can be mounted on the side armor on the waist.As the RX-79[G] was built out of surplus parts for the RX-78, replacements parts were very limited, and many bases were forced to perform field repairs on their units using parts from other mobile suits, creating many custom type units. One such example was the unit piloted by Karen Joshua, which had its head replaced with the head of an RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type.

The RX-9/C Narrative Gundam C-Packs is a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative and is piloted by Jona Basta. The C-Packs was the third optional equipment for the RX-9 Narrative Gundam and is embellished with Psycho-Frame as additional armor. It is said that no such equipment plan originally existed for the MS, resulting in minimal conversions being hastily applied to the MS. Despite its unusual origin, the MS did achieve its concept to have an increased amount of Psycho-Frame, proving the high extensibility of the Narrative Gundam. This configuration of the MS is also called the "Psycho Package" and the Psycho-Frame used to create it was independently collected by Luio & Co.  

Shin Musha Gundam is a mobile suit which featured in Sony PlayStation's Gundam Musou video game. He is voiced by Ryuzaburo Otomo. Based on Musha Gundam, the Shin Musha Gundam differs from the original due to its elaborated armor design. Like the Musha Gundam, The Shin Musha is armed with powerful weapons including the Sankoumaru Jumonji Yari, a powerful spear that could pierce through tough mobile armor. Its default weapon includes the Nichirinmaru Katana and a Denkoumaru Naginata. In addition, the Shin Musha Gundam is also equipped with the Tanegashima gun for long ranged combat.

The ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse Gundam is a Mobile Suit introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. It is piloted by Shinn Asuka and later by Lunamaria Hawke. The ZGMF-X56S/β Sword Impulse is the ZGMF-X56S Impulse equipped with the β Sword Silhouette pack and is designed to serve as a close combat mobile suit. The Sword Silhouette pack adds two anti-ship laser swords, which can be combined into a larger double bladed sword, and a pair of beam boomerangs to the Impulse's standard armaments of two CIWS, two anti-armor knifes, a beam rifle and a shield. Thanks to the presence of the beam rifle, the suit has no problem engaging in range combat if required. The suit's VPS colors are different from that of the normal Impulse, and is now red, black and white.

The MS-06R Zaku II High Mobility Type (Reuse "P" Device) (aka Psycho Zaku) is a prototype mobile suit from the manga Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt and its animated adaptation. It is piloted by Daryl Lorenz. The MS-06R Zaku II High Mobility Type (Reuse "P" Device) is a mobile suit operated by the Zeon army's Living Dead Division. An experimental unit equipped with the “Reuse P (Psycho) Device” - a next generation operating system that has the potential to operate a mobile suit's limbs by communicating to the drive system of the mobile suit directly via thoughts. Even individuals with little piloting experience can master the controls in a short period due to this system. Although Ensign Daryl Lorenz is the pilot of the Psycho Zaku and his main mission is to snipe from ultra-long ranges, to pilot the unit, a high proficiency of control is necessary. It is believed that some training time is necessary, however it was pressed into combat so the training was cut extremely short thanks to the device. In order to draw out 100% of its abilities, the pilot must be quadruple amputee to fully interface with the mobile suit.

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee (aka Banshee) is a mobile suit that appears in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. It is built alongside its brother unit, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, under the Earth Federation's UC Project. Originally piloted by Marida Cruz, it was later assigned to Riddhe Marcenas. After its completion alongside the Unicorn Gundam, the Banshee was eventually stationed on Earth with the Augusta Research Lab and tested for atmospheric combat. Rather than that of a Unicorn, the Banshee's motif is that of a lion, illustrated with gold accents on the forehead, a golden collar to signify a lion's mane (the Banshee originally had the same collar as the Unicorn but this was changed after it suffered damages while battling in space), and a much more elaborate horn/V-fin.The Banshee's armor is almost entirely black, and its psycho-frame emits a golden-orange glow when the NT-D is activated. Although the Banshee lacks the Unicorn's distinctive La+ System, its performance in atmospheric combat is vastly superior, presumably because of a significant reconfiguring of the suit's operating system to account for Earth's gravity and the atmosphere's frictional resistance.Combat improvements were made according to Unicorn Gundam's battle data, which had been relayed to the Augusta Research Lab. However, the two Gundams have no major operating differences. Aside from lacking the Unicorn's La+ operating system, the Banshee's raw performance is equal to that of the Unicorn. In other words, any modification to the Banshee (i.e. atmospheric combat performance) could also be applied to the Unicorn, making both suits equal in ability.In the anime version, it weighs more than Unit 1 and has a larger effective sensor radius. Its armament also differs from that of Unit 1, as it is equipped with the added psycho-frame armaments "Armed Armor BS" and "Armed Armor VN", granting it better continuous battle capability than Unit 1, and it is said to have a higher degree of completion.
