What's Inside the SNAA SC-012 Rampage Lion Bedivere?

The SNAA SC-012 Rampage Lion Bedivere is the tenth release in the 1/144 Beyond Exquisite (BE) Round Table Knights series, and the first in the lineup to lean heavily into an animal motif. The lion-shaped helmet, integrated claw gauntlets, translucent mane, and articulated tail stingers give the kit an aggressive, predatory look while still sitting on the same humanoid knight frame the series is built on. It also ships in the biggest box SNAA has put out for a 1/144 kit - roughly twice the height of an Iron Sickle or Lamorak box.

The Bedivere stands approximately 17cm tall, putting it slightly shorter than Galahad and roughly even with Lamorak. It's classified as a Sanctuary-tier knight, the same elite bracket as Percival and Galahad. Across 23 runners, this is the highest part count of any Round Table Knights release to date, with a build time of roughly six hours. It's also one of the first kits in the series where pointy parts are a genuine concern - a detail that comes up consistently across early reviews, and one you'll want to keep in mind during assembly.

One Lion Head? Try Two.

The most immediately polarizing thing about Bedivere is also the thing you can't miss: there are two lion heads on this kit. The helmet is shaped like a roaring lion, with the mecha's actual face sitting inside the lion's open mouth. Immediately below it, on the chest, is a second lion head housing the Core Cannon. When the chest lion's mouth opens, the cannon extends via a linkage mechanism. Two lion faces stacked vertically is a lot of lion, and whether that reads as "intimidating" or "a bit much" is going to depend entirely on who's looking at it.

The community is split on the dual lion design. Some like the aggressiveness and how the overall silhouette reinforces Bedivere's identity as a close-combat brawler - every design element, from the claws to the lion head, screams "I'm running at you, and it's going to hurt." Others observed that the lion's fangs on the helmet are long enough to partially block the mecha's eyes, which makes the head look less like a lion and more like a vampire. The feeling is very much split, and honestly, you be the judge.

The mane's design is impressive. It's assembled from multiple translucent plastic pieces that layer together to create a three-dimensional mane flowing off the back of the head. The result catches light well and gives the kit a visual density that flat armor panels can't match. The tradeoff is that every single one of those translucent mane pieces is extremely pointy. Early reviewers noted that Bedivere is one of the most hand-stabbing kits SNAA has produced, with the mane area having the sharpest and most poking edges. Consider yourself warned - blood offering may be required.

The dual lion design is a little busy, if we're being honest. The chest piece helps - when the lion's mouth is shut, that blue gem sitting in the center of the lion's head, flanked by two golden eyes, is one of the best visual details in the whole kit. Open the mouth to deploy the cannon and the whole chest comes alive, but you do end up with two wide-open lion faces staring at you at once.

And this is where the modding potential gets interesting. Those two lion heads are practically begging for LED mods. Light up the helmet eyes, light up the chest lion's golden eyes and that blue gem, and suddenly the whole design clicks in a way that static plastic can't quite deliver. The cannon that extends from the chest lion's mouth is another opportunity - imagine a beam or launch effect made from cotton coming out of that opening. The three Pursuit Tail Stingers read as pure aggression on display, but the single wire tail is the one you want for a dynamic mid-fight pose where the kit looks like it's actually moving.

What's Inside the Box

The Bedivere ships with two distinct equipment configurations that you build and swap between.

Standard Equipment gives you the base combat loadout: a pair of Rending Steel Claws mounted on the forearms (with side and rear attachment options for different posing angles), a single Pursuit Tail Stinger using a rubber-coated wire for flexible posing, and the Lion King Core Cannon integrated into the chest.

Burst Equipment is where the parts pile up. The Lion King's Wrath is an oversized replacement arm and gauntlet in black and gray with individually articulated claw fingers. Three Pursuit Tail Stingers replace the single wire tail - more on those in a minute, because they deserve their own paragraph. The Crusher is a 26cm greatsword with engraved rune patterns on the blade. The Soul Devourer is a knuckle-blade weapon. And the Sky-Rend Cannon deploys from under the giant gauntlet's arm armor via a retractable panel. There's also an arm-mounted support bracket specifically designed to help the kit hold the Crusher without the arm joints giving up under the sword's weight.

The kit comes with a large display stand, noticeably bigger than what you'd typically see included with a 1/144 kit. It has two support arms of different lengths, connecting to the backpack via a slide rail. Most third-party kits include a display stand these days - it's not always guaranteed (Lamorak didn't come with one, for example), but it's become a general expectation.

Total weapon count across both configurations: 10 individual components. The kit also includes the full articulated inner frame standard across all BE-series releases, pre-painted armor panels with multi-color separation, and a water-slide decal sheet.

A Closer Look

Bedivere is the first kit in the Round Table Knights line to integrate transparent pieces directly into the torso and limb armor as accent panels.

The color scheme runs white and black as the primary base, with gray panels providing tonal contrast and blue transparent pieces plus yellow accents for color pop. It's a more saturated palette than some of the recent releases in the series, which works well with the aggressive lion aesthetic - the high contrast between the dark and light armor panels reinforces the predatory look SNAA was going for.

The tail system deserves its own breakdown. The standard-mode tail uses thick rubber-wrapped wire - flexible, poseable, and strong enough to hold a raised position without drooping.

The Pursuit Tail Stingers in Burst Equipment trade the wire flexibility for mechanical precision. Three separate articulated appendages, each with 15 joints that lock via pull-out mechanisms. If you've built the RG Epyon, think of that kit's tail - similar concept of segmented, articulated sections that hold their shape. The joints are tight enough that they hold aggressive poses without sagging, and the angular, segmented look gives them a more weaponized feel compared to the organic shape of the wire version. The tail tips even double as additional ranged weapons - small cannon barrels at the ends of each stinger.

How It Moves

This is a close-combat kit, so articulation matters more here than on a ranged unit that's going to stand in the back of your shelf looking stoic.

The head sits on dual ball joints with a pull-up mechanism for extended range. Shoulders feature pull-out joints that dramatically increase the lateral and forward range, with the shoulder armor riding on its own independent sleeve structure so it can shift out of the way. Arms can raise well past 90 degrees once the various clearance mechanisms are engaged. The small claw elements on the outer shoulders are independently adjustable to avoid blocking arm movement.

The hip joints have a pull-down extension for deep forward kicks - full front splits are achievable, and lateral splits aren't far behind. Knee bending triggers a linkage where the rear calf panel retracts inward while a filler piece slides into the knee gap, maintaining a clean silhouette even at full bend.

The waist has a pull-out folding mechanism at the base for forward bending, with side skirt armor supporting outward clearance. The chest cannon mechanism does occupy space that would otherwise go to upper torso movement, so waist bend and side sway rely more heavily on the lower torso joint. It's a tradeoff baked into the design - linked chest cannon, less upper body flex.

Part fit across the kit runs tighter than you'd expect. This is standard practice for most third-party kits - tighter tolerances help keep joints from loosening over time and maintain poseability long after the build is done. The runner quality is clean: sharp detail on the armor pieces, well-molded gates, and transparent parts with good clarity.

Who Should Build Bedivere

Bedivere is a melee brawler, and everything about the kit is built around that identity. The claws, the lion helm, the tail stingers, the 26cm greatsword - this is a kit that was designed to be posed mid-swing or mid-charge, not standing at attention. If that kind of aggressive, in-your-face display energy appeals to you, this is the one.

If you've built any recent kit in the series, you'll know what to expect from the frame assembly and armor attachment process. If you're new to the SNAA Round Table Knights series, Bedivere is just as approachable as a regular RG Gunpla.

The kit is rising quickly in the Chinese hobby community as another modder's holy grail (改造圣体, gǎizao shengtǐ) - meaning it's considered a strong base for custom paint jobs and kitbashing. The lion theming and clear part integration give modders a different canvas than the standard knight frame.
