Master Grade 1/100 Gundam
MG models were first introduced in the summer of 1995, designed and made to higher standards than most other models. These kits take much longer to construct and are often much more expensive than their lower-grade counterparts. More recent Master Grade plastic models typically feature a movable inner frame system that enables extensive movement and bending of joints, as well as including standing and seating miniature figures of the pilots of each Gundam model.
Beginning in 2005 with the Zeta Gundam, Older MG Kits would be redesigned under the Ver.2.0 moniker with features such as a full inner frame. The RX-78-2 Gundam has had multiple MG iterations, including a Ver.1.5 that uses a mix of old and new parts, and Ver.3.0 that is modeled after the life-size statue similar to the Real Grade version of the same robot.
Though the name "Master Grade" is widely known because of Gundam, it is not Gundam exclusive as a few Master Grade offerings have come from mechas in Patlabor and Dunbine. Bandai also released a line featuring a series of character figures from Dragon Ball Z, Kamen Rider, and Tiger & Bunny under the name MG Figurerise.
In 2002, a new line of Master Grade kits subtitled "Ver. Ka" was released, which was Master Grades designed by mecha designer Hajime Katoki. Mobile suits chose to become Ver. Ka kits are chosen by annual fan votes. In 2020 a new line, Master Grade Extreme (abbreviated as MGEX) was redesigned of Master Grades that contained additional gimmicks called "Extreme Points". The first model kit of this line is the Unicorn Gundam Ver. Ka contained a LED light strip that ran across the mobile suit, compared to Individual lights that had to be wired throughout the inner frame.

MG 1/100 RX-78GP03S Gundam GP03S Stamen Model Kit
Bandai
$43.00The RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" (aka Zephyranthes, GP01, Unit 1) is a prototype general-purpose mobile suit introduced in the Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory OVA. It was piloted by Kou Uraki. Developed as part of the Gundam Development Project, the GP01 was a ground-use general purpose mobile suit intended to be an improvement of the RX-78-2 Gundam, which achieved exceptional battle results during the One Year War. Being an experimental unit, it was equipped with an increased number of sensors, some of which were exposed due to being temporary. Compared to the RX-78, its sensors and balancer were upgraded or redesigned. Overall, the GP01 was designed to allow movement closer to that of a human (a design concept that would eventually evolve into the Movable Frame). In order to ensure the survival of the pilot and the combat data, the GP01 retained the Core Block System. However, to address the RX-78's structural weakness in the stomach, the GP01 adopted an experimental "horizontal in the body" structure instead of the previously used "vertical in the body" structure. The GP01's main generator, main thrusters, and operation and control instruments were all integrated into its FF-XII Core Fighter II. In addition, when docked, the Core Fighter's beam guns serve as the GP01's beam sabers. Thanks to this design, the Core Fighter's propellant, thrusters, and weapons were no longer dead weight when docked. By switching the Core Fighter, the GP01 could operate both on Earth and in space, though additional readjustment and maintenance was still needed. Thanks to this design, despite being a general-purpose mobile suit, its performance rivaled or exceeded dedicated ground-use and space-use mobile suits in both environments.

Bandai
$83.00The MSN-06S-2 Sinanju Stein is a mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative and is piloted by Zoltan Akkanen. The MSN-06S Sinanju Stein was developed to test the durability and follow-up capabilities of the Psycho-Frame. Two units of the Mobile Suit, referred to using the development code "Stein 01", were later stolen by the Neo Zeon remnants, the Sleeves. One unit was remodeled as the MSN-06S Sinanju and used as the flagship MS of the organization. In UC 0097, the other unit was seen in the fight over the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex and was embellished with the engravings that became root for the name of The Sleeves.

MG 1/100 XXXG-01W Wing Gundam EW Ver.
Bandai
$37.00The XXXG-01W Wing Gundam (aka Zero-One or Gundam 01) is the titular mobile suit of the anime Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. It was primarily piloted by Heero Yuy. Out of the five original Gundams created for Operation Meteor, Wing Gundam is the most well-balanced in terms of abilities and bears the closest resemblance to their common ancestor: the XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero. Like Wing Zero, the Wing Gundam can transform into an alternate flight form known as "Bird Mode" and has a powerful Buster Rifle as part of its armaments. However, the "ZERO System" interface (which had technical problems) and other parts considered to be excessive were not included, and the skills of the pilot are needed to make up for the shortfall. Its cockpit is a spherical capsule surrounded by a linear frame, and it swivels in the same direction as the mobile suit's head. Unlike the standard OZ cockpit, it is a floating cockpit with a shock mitigation function. The major contributor to Wing's mobility is the pair of wing units on its backpack. These units not only generate lift, but can also change the aerodynamic characteristics of the mobile suit through the movements of their individual panels, supporting a range of speeds from stall to hypersonic. Even in outer space, these wing units exhibit high attitude control capability using both AMBAC and built-in vernier thrusters. By transforming into Bird Mode, Wing's mobility and movement range are increased further, allowing it to conduct operations that other Gundams could not. The leg thrusters on the back of the knees serve as the main verniers in Bird Mode, and are also used for dashing on the ground in MS mode.

MG 1/100 RGM-79 GM (Ver. 2.0)
Bandai
$43.00The RGM-79 GM (aka GM, pronounced Jim) was the first mass-produced mobile suit of the Earth Federation. It first appears in Mobile Suit Gundam. The RGM-79 GM is a mass-produced mobile suit based on the RX-78-2 Gundam. Its basic frame is easily adaptable to modifications into mission specific GM models, and has a fairly high level of mobility, for the time, both on Earth and in space. It has a maximum acceleration of 0.94 Gs in space, which is better than the Gundam's and roughly twice of the Zaku's. On Earth's surface, the GM is also faster than the Zaku II. The armor of the GM uses Titanium Alloy, a sturdy metal that could be refined more quickly and easily than the Gundam's Luna Titanium Alloy. Although titanium alloy is less durable than Luna Titanium, it is also slightly lighter which reduces the GM's overall mass compared to the Gundam's and is still superior to the Zaku II's super-high tensile steel armor. The GM was primarily armed with a beam spray gun, a less powerful version of the Gundam's beam rifle but could still destroy MS in one shot. Early in production, the beam spray gun had yet to be mass-produced so most GMs were equipped with various machine guns. These machine guns continued to be used by the GMs later, and the machine could also use the Gundam's beam rifle when required. It could also use a mass production version of the Gundam's Hyper Bazooka for heavier firepower. For close combat, the GM has a beam saber, and a shield similar to the one used by the Gundam. Commander units sometimes featured a second beam saber. Lastly, the GM has a pair of head-mounted 60mm vulcan guns for intercepting missiles, small vehicles or to stop enemy MS from closing in. From the GM started the RGM series that remained the mainstay of the Federation's mass production mobile suits until the end of the Federation itself.

MG 1/100 RX-9/C Narrative Gundam C-Packs (Ver. Ka)
Bandai
$72.00The RX-9/C Narrative Gundam C-Packs is a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative and is piloted by Jona Basta. The C-Packs was the third optional equipment for the RX-9 Narrative Gundam and is embellished with Psycho-Frame as additional armor. It is said that no such equipment plan originally existed for the MS, resulting in minimal conversions being hastily applied to the MS. Despite its unusual origin, the MS did achieve its concept to have an increased amount of Psycho-Frame, proving the high extensibility of the Narrative Gundam. This configuration of the MS is also called the "Psycho Package" and the Psycho-Frame used to create it was independently collected by Luio & Co.

MG 1/100 RX-78-3 G-3 Gundam (Ver. 2.0)
Bandai
$51.00The RX-78-2 Gundam is the titular mobile suit of Mobile Suit Gundam television series. Part of the RX-78 Gundam series, it was built in secret on Side 7. The Gundam would turn the tide of war in favor of the Earth Federation during the One Year War against the Principality of Zeon. It was primarily piloted by Amuro Ray. The Gundam was incredibly advanced for its time. Built from lightweight Luna Titanium Alloy, its frame was both lighter than that of Zeon's mass-produced mobile suits and much sturdier, able to shrug off a MS-06 Zaku II's machine gun fire with little to no damage. Its offensive power was above and beyond that of the Zakus. The Gundam would engage in most battles with its beam rifle, making it the first mobile suit to have firepower equivalent to a battleship's beam cannons. In addition, it made use of two beam sabers, blades of extremely hot plasma which could cut through any metal with ease. Those beam sabers could be extended into a spear-like beam javelin, which could be used to stab into an enemy from a longer distance. The Gundam also used more conventional weaponry; it could launch rockets with a "Hyper Bazooka", the Federation's answer to the bazookas used by Zeon's Zakus; in addition, its head was outfitted with a pair of small vulcan guns, as a way of attacking light-armored aircraft and vehicles without wasting ammo or energy from its more powerful armaments. It also made use of a very unconventional close-range weapon known as the "Gundam Hammer" - a large weapon similar to a flail which could be swung at enemies to deal crushing damage. The Gundam Hammer was eventually upgraded for use in space and outfitted with a number of verniers on the ball, and renamed to be the "Hyper Hammer". Lastly, it wielded a shield which would offer it a defense against enemy attacks that not even its Luna Titanium body could withstand without damage. Gundam pilot, Amuro Ray, would make use of the shield as a decoy in many battles, taking advantage of its size to fool the enemy into thinking he was charging at them, then attacking the enemy through the shield. In terms of technology, the Gundam was equipped with a sophisticated Learning Computer which would collect pilot and enemy data during skirmishes and allow the Gundam to operate more effectively. The data from the computer was used by the Federation to improve the controls of the Gundam's mass-produced form, the RGM-79 GM. In addition, it was upgraded by Federation technician Mosque Han shortly before the Battle of A Baoa Qu to improve its reaction times, the joints of the Gundam were given a Magnet Coating, based on the experimental procedure performed on the RX-78-3 "G-3" Gundam and later used on Amuro's intended successor unit, the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex".The Gundam makes use of the Core Block System implemented in the other V Project units. The torso of the Gundam is mostly hollow so that a FF-X7 Core Fighter can dock with it. This allows the pilot to jettison the legs and torso of the Gundam should the machine be too heavily damaged and gives the pilot a chance to escape from battle. Later, during Operation Odessa, the Gundam is given a support unit known as the G-Fighter. The two G-Fighters were designed to take advantage of the Gundam's modular system and diversify the Gundam's role in active combat. These modes ranged from the assault bomber G-Armor to the close combat support tank G-Bull. Officially, it is called a prototype, but it is also said to be more of a custom-made machine that is finished with high quality materials and the best technology.

MG 1/100 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam (Full Burst Mode)
Bandai
$72.00The ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam is the titular mobile suit of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny and was piloted by Shinn Asuka. A straight-built Gunpla version is piloted by Shimon Izuna in Gundam Build Fighters Try. The ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam is a high performance general-purpose MS commissioned by ZAFT Chairman Gilbert Durandal, who ordered it to be incorporated with the most advanced technology of the time, including technologies banned by the Junius Treaty. Based on the ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam and Shinn Asuka's combat data, it is designed to handle any combat situations with a single set of varied armament, a concept first tested on the ZGMF-X56S/θ Destiny Impulse. For close combat, it has two beam boomerangs that double as beam sabers, a pair of palm beam cannons, and a large beam sword. For ranged battle, it is equipped with a long-range beam cannon and a beam rifle. For defense, it mounts a small physical shield as well as two beam shield generators. Lastly, the suit has a standard set of CIWS.For the Destiny Gundam to use its variety of weapons effectively and quickly, it needs to have a wider range of body movements as well as be more flexible. To achieve a wider range of body movements, the suit's basic structural components are split into smaller, movable pieces, while its armor is divided into smaller pieces in a manner similar to that of the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam's. The exposed gaps in the armor due to smaller armor pieces are remedied by mapping out the ranges of motion of the frame using Shinn's combat performance to determine the most efficient way to separate the armor parts. This ensures the wider range of body movements do not compromise defensive power. To be more flexible, the Destiny's joints are constructed of the same materials found in Phase Shift armor. This allows the joints to possess near-human flexibility when phase-shifted and a faint metallic glow is produced when discharging excess residual energy within the body through the joints. Through these measures, the suit met its requirements, however, various problems remain to be solved, including maintenance problems and production issues.Other special aspects are the Destiny's use of the new Voiture Lumiere propulsion system and the use of Mirage Colloid to create illusionary copies of itself. Destiny's Voiture Lumiere propulsion system is installed in the wings, which are improved version of the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam's wings, and will produce a special light effect known as Wings of Light during high speed movements. The Voiture Lumiere propulsion system is frequently used alongside the Mirage Colloid to confuse the enemy as the real Destiny sets up for a high-speed attack. Like the ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam, the Destiny Gundam is powered by the Hyper-Deuterion Engine and armored with Variable Phase Shift armor. Although classified as a "Second Stage Series" mobile suit, as indicated by the "S" in its model code, the Destiny should be a "Third Stage Series" instead based on its performance. This is done to hide the fact that it is a nuclear-powered suit and should have an "A" instead.
