RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver 2.0

Bandai

$37.00

The RX-78-2 Gundam is the titular mobile suit of Mobile Suit Gundam television series. Part of the RX-78 Gundam series, it was built in secret on Side 7. The Gundam would turn the tide of war in favor of the Earth Federation during the One Year War against the Principality of Zeon. It was primarily piloted by Amuro Ray. The Gundam was incredibly advanced for its time. Built from lightweight Luna Titanium Alloy, its frame was both lighter than that of Zeon's mass-produced mobile suits and much sturdier, able to shrug off a MS-06 Zaku II's machine gun fire with little to no damage. Its offensive power was above and beyond that of the Zakus. The Gundam would engage in most battles with its beam rifle, making it the first mobile suit to have firepower equivalent to a battleship's beam cannons. In addition, it made use of two beam sabers, blades of extremely hot plasma which could cut through any metal with ease. Those beam sabers could be extended into a spear-like beam javelin, which could be used to stab into an enemy from a longer distance. The Gundam also used more conventional weaponry; it could launch rockets with a "Hyper Bazooka", the Federation's answer to the bazookas used by Zeon's Zakus; in addition, its head was outfitted with a pair of small vulcan guns, as a way of attacking light-armored aircraft and vehicles without wasting ammo or energy from its more powerful armaments. It also made use of a very unconventional close-range weapon known as the "Gundam Hammer" - a large weapon similar to a flail which could be swung at enemies to deal crushing damage. The Gundam Hammer was eventually upgraded for use in space and outfitted with a number of verniers on the ball, and renamed to be the "Hyper Hammer". Lastly, it wielded a shield which would offer it a defense against enemy attacks that not even its Luna Titanium body could withstand without damage. Gundam pilot, Amuro Ray, would make use of the shield as a decoy in many battles, taking advantage of its size to fool the enemy into thinking he was charging at them, then attacking the enemy through the shield. In terms of technology, the Gundam was equipped with a sophisticated Learning Computer which would collect pilot and enemy data during skirmishes and allow the Gundam to operate more effectively. The data from the computer was used by the Federation to improve the controls of the Gundam's mass-produced form, the RGM-79 GM. In addition, it was upgraded by Federation technician Mosque Han shortly before the Battle of A Baoa Qu to improve its reaction times, the joints of the Gundam were given a Magnet Coating, based on the experimental procedure performed on the RX-78-3 "G-3" Gundam and later used on Amuro's intended successor unit, the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex".The Gundam makes use of the Core Block System implemented in the other V Project units. The torso of the Gundam is mostly hollow so that a FF-X7 Core Fighter can dock with it. This allows the pilot to jettison the legs and torso of the Gundam should the machine be too heavily damaged and gives the pilot a chance to escape from battle. Later, during Operation Odessa, the Gundam is given a support unit known as the G-Fighter. The two G-Fighters were designed to take advantage of the Gundam's modular system and diversify the Gundam's role in active combat. These modes ranged from the assault bomber G-Armor to the close combat support tank G-Bull. Officially, it is called a prototype, but it is also said to be more of a custom-made machine that is finished with high quality materials and the best technology.

HG 1/144 HGUC MS-06R-1A Zaku II High Mobility Type (Black Tri-Stars Custom)

Bandai

$21.00

The MS-06R-1A Zaku II High Mobility Type is a mobile suit first introduced in Mobile Suit Variation. After the successful release of the MS-06R-1 Zaku II High Mobility Test Type the Zeon engineers began to receive feedback from the pilots on ways the mobile suit's design could be improved. The biggest difference from the R-1 is that the fuel tanks on the back and legs have been modified into cartridges to solve the problem of propellant consumption. In particular, those of the legs are changed into cylindrical cartridges. This not only simplifies replenishment in the mother ship, but also allows for replenishment in outer space, and a platoon equipped with this unit is to be accompanied by a Zaku equipped with refill cartridges. As a result of these changes, the MS-06R-1A Zaku II High Mobility Type has a longer operation time. Furthermore, an escape system has been adopted in the cockpit for this machine, and it is possible to eject the seat and base forward in an emergency. The base has a certain degree of propulsion function, and is also equipped with solar cells and life support devices.

HG 1/144 HGUC MS-05B Zaku I

Bandai

$13.00

The MS-05B Zaku I was a mobile suit introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam. The MS-05B was the late production variant of the Zaku I and the first mobile suit assigned to combat units. An improvement over the MS-05A Zaku I Early Type, the B Type was visually identical to the A Type, but featured an improved cockpit design and better armor material. Like its predecessor, the MS-05B's power transmission pipes were all fixed and contained inside its armor. However, as the B Type saw wider deployment than the A Type, the flaws of this design quickly became apparent: since the power pipes took up most of its internal space, it was very difficult to improve its generator output or swap out parts. The structures of its limbs were also very complex due to the internalized power system. These problems would later be addressed by the MS-06 Zaku II series. Its weapons included a custom machine gun, a 280mm bazooka, and a spike shield. It could also be equipped with the standard weapons used by the MS-06 series, including the 120mm machine gun and the heat hawk.

MG 1/100 RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes"

Bandai

$31.00

The RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" (aka Zephyranthes, GP01, Unit 1) is a prototype general-purpose mobile suit introduced in the Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory OVA. It was piloted by Kou Uraki.  Developed as part of the Gundam Development Project, the GP01 was a ground-use general purpose mobile suit intended to be an improvement of the RX-78-2 Gundam, which achieved exceptional battle results during the One Year War. Being an experimental unit, it was equipped with an increased number of sensors, some of which were exposed due to being temporary. Compared to the RX-78, its sensors and balancer were upgraded or redesigned. Overall, the GP01 was designed to allow movement closer to that of a human (a design concept that would eventually evolve into the Movable Frame). In order to ensure the survival of the pilot and the combat data, the GP01 retained the Core Block System. However, to address the RX-78's structural weakness in the stomach, the GP01 adopted an experimental "horizontal in the body" structure instead of the previously used "vertical in the body" structure. The GP01's main generator, main thrusters, and operation and control instruments were all integrated into its FF-XII Core Fighter II. In addition, when docked, the Core Fighter's beam guns serve as the GP01's beam sabers. Thanks to this design, the Core Fighter's propellant, thrusters, and weapons were no longer dead weight when docked. By switching the Core Fighter, the GP01 could operate both on Earth and in space, though additional readjustment and maintenance was still needed. Thanks to this design, despite being a general-purpose mobile suit, its performance rivaled or exceeded dedicated ground-use and space-use mobile suits in both environments.

MG 1/100 RGM-79 GM (Ver. 2.0)

Bandai

$43.00

The RGM-79 GM (aka GM, pronounced Jim) was the first mass-produced mobile suit of the Earth Federation. It first appears in Mobile Suit Gundam. The RGM-79 GM is a mass-produced mobile suit based on the RX-78-2 Gundam. Its basic frame is easily adaptable to modifications into mission specific GM models, and has a fairly high level of mobility, for the time, both on Earth and in space. It has a maximum acceleration of 0.94 Gs in space, which is better than the Gundam's and roughly twice of the Zaku's. On Earth's surface, the GM is also faster than the Zaku II. The armor of the GM uses Titanium Alloy, a sturdy metal that could be refined more quickly and easily than the Gundam's Luna Titanium Alloy. Although titanium alloy is less durable than Luna Titanium, it is also slightly lighter which reduces the GM's overall mass compared to the Gundam's and is still superior to the Zaku II's super-high tensile steel armor. The GM was primarily armed with a beam spray gun, a less powerful version of the Gundam's beam rifle but could still destroy MS in one shot. Early in production, the beam spray gun had yet to be mass-produced so most GMs were equipped with various machine guns. These machine guns continued to be used by the GMs later, and the machine could also use the Gundam's beam rifle when required. It could also use a mass production version of the Gundam's Hyper Bazooka for heavier firepower. For close combat, the GM has a beam saber, and a shield similar to the one used by the Gundam. Commander units sometimes featured a second beam saber. Lastly, the GM has a pair of head-mounted 60mm vulcan guns for intercepting missiles, small vehicles or to stop enemy MS from closing in. From the GM started the RGM series that remained the mainstay of the Federation's mass production mobile suits until the end of the Federation itself.

MG 1/100 RX-78-3 G-3 Gundam (Ver. 2.0)

PG 1/60 Perfect Grade MS-06S Char's Zaku II

Bandai

$142.00

MS-06S Char's Zaku II is a mobile suit featured in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga and its OVA adaptation. It was piloted by Char Aznable during the One Year War. Char's MS-06S Zaku II is a customized version of the standard MS-06S Zaku II Commander Type (an overall improved MS-06F Zaku II) painted in his personal red colors. Being a commander's unit, a horn-like decoration was also attached to its head. Despite the high risks, Char personally ordered the removal of its limiters, allowing it to use its thrusters to the maximum limit. The hit-and-run tactics enabled by the resulting high thrust, and the impression its distinctive colors made on the battlefield, led to Char's nick name, "Red Comet". After the Clash of Loum, Vice Admiral Dozle secretly ordered Char to command the Falmer, a custom Musai-class battleship, and unit emblems and victory markings were applied to his MS-06S. These included bright white lines indicating it as the commander's unit, the unit number "A12" and emblems of the Falmer.

PG 1/60 Perfect Grade MS-06F Zaku II

Bandai

$142.00

The MS-06F Zaku II is one of many variants of the MS-06 Zaku II series and was introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam television series. The MS-06F Zaku II was the Principality of Zeon's mainstay mobile suit during the One Year War. Compared to the MS-06C Zaku II Early Production Type, the MS-06F removed the heavy anti-nuclear protections, reducing its armor weight and improving its mobility. It was also refitted with a more powerful generator: the MYFG-M-ES series fusion reactor, jointly developed by Zeonic and M&Y Company. Otherwise, it was not significantly different from its predecessors, the MS-06A and the MS-06C. There existed subtle differences among the F-Type, depending on the time of manufacture and the originating factory. Prior to the introduction of the MS-06S Zaku II Commander Type, MS-06F piloted by squadron leaders were equipped with a head-mounted blade antenna. The MS-06F could run at a speed of 85 km/h, leap 100m into the air with the use of its thrusters, and lift around 80-90t of weight with one hand. Its thrusters had a thrust of 45 tons. Though its punch had a force of 560t, doing so risked severely damaging its manipulators. Instead it more frequently used the spike armor on its left shoulder for shoulder tackle, which had a force of 4,500t. The cost of a MS-06F was equivalent to that of five Type 61 Tanks, or 1,500 civilian automobiles from the year U.C. 0078 (each costing 30% of a salaryman's average annual salary).

MG 1/100 MSM-07 Z'Gok Mass Production

Bandai

$37.00

The MSM-07 Z'Gok (ズゴック Zugokku?) is a mass-production amphibious mobile suit introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. The MSM-07 Z'Gok is one of the heavy mobile suit developed by MIP. Like the MSM-04 Acguy, it is viewed as a second-stage amphibious MS, different from the MSM-03 Gogg, a first-stage unit. The Z'Gok's final design was improved based on actual combat data from the Gogg, but this delayed its development and the Acguy was completed before it.Among amphibious mobile suit, the Z'Gok's focus is on ground combat. Besides using both air and water-cooled radiators, it also has chemical fuel rockets for jumping in addition to thermonuclear water jets. The Z'Gok is also designed so that it can perform anti-air combat as well as search operations on and above the water surface, duties that the Gogg could not.The Z'Gok's specifications are superior to those of the mass production mobile suits by the Earth Federation Forces at the same period. However, in return for high performance, it is difficult to pilot. Furthermore, it is a costly machine because it lacks parts compatibility with the Gogg.

MG 1/100 RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1 "Alex" (Ver. 2.0)

Bandai

$60.00

The RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1, nicknamed Alex, was a Newtype-use mobile suit created by the Earth Federation Forces. It was introduced in the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. By the time of the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon's lead Newtype researcher, Dr. Flanagan, had been conducting his research for more than ten years. In contrast, the Earth Federation Forces only began their Newtype research in August, U.C. 0079. This was because the EFF did not see the military value of Newtypes due to the small number of examples and low replicability. However, concepts similar to Newtype-use unit were still included as part of the RX Project. Based on existing research to improve mobile suit responsiveness, as well as reports from the Newtype pilot Amuro Ray and operating data from the RX-78-2 Gundam, the EFF began the development of a Newtype-use mobile suit with the goal of improved durability and responsiveness. For this purpose, the fourth RX-78 series unit was redesigned as a custom unit for Amuro Ray and received the new model number of RX-78NT-1.The Gundam NT-1's development was carried out by the Augusta Base, originally a facility that researched issues relating to soldiers' mental health, it was chosen because some of its researchers published essays proving the Newtype concept. For additional protection, it was equipped with a set of optional Chobam armor, earning it the nickname "Alex", which was derived from the model number prefix "RX" and the acronym "Armor Layered EXamination", the project name of its armor. To ensure the extra weight from the Chobam armor does not hinder its mobility, the NT-1 was designed with expanded propellant capacity in mind. Inspired by the Zeon concept of using the leg itself as a large vernier unit, it was fitted with propellant tank/sub-thruster hybrid units on its legs. It was also fitted with a large number of additional thrusters, both to improve its mobility and to compensate for the added weight of its armor. Thanks to its magnet coating and the use of a high-speed, large-capacity learning computer more advanced than the one used by the RX-78-2, the NT-1's responsiveness was more than three times that of existing mobile suits. In addition, it was also equipped with a panoramic cockpit and linear seat, two features that would eventually become standard on mobile suits, under the belief that they would enable a Newtype pilot to better make use of their expanded awareness. Finally, based on analysis of combat data from the RX-78-2 Gundam, it was pointed out that the loss or damage of hand-carried weapons may impact the mobile suit's combat ability, so the NT-1 was equipped with a pair of concealed 90mm Gatling Guns in its forearms.

MG 1/100 RX-79 [G] EZ-8 Gundam The 08th MS Team

Bandai

$32.00

The RX-79[G]Ez-8 Gundam Ez8 is a customized RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type introduced in the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team and is piloted by the main protagonist Shiro Amada. During the battle with the Apsaras II, Shiro Amada's Gundam Ground Type was heavily damaged, necessitating major repair and overhaul. Based on the combat data collected up until that point, as well as feedback from Shiro Amada himself, the Gundam received various modifications. The result became known as Gundam Ez8, short for "Extra-zero-8", which stood for "08th MS Team extra unit".The Ez8's chest armor received major changes. Its chest armor plating was made using two Zaku II shoulder shields welded together, which can flip open for easy maintenance and can withstand a direct hit from a Zaku II's 175mm Recoilless Rifle with only a few scratches. The multi-launcher and the chest-mounted vulcan gun were removed due to being considered unnecessary. Instead, a 12.7mm vulcan gun was mounted just below the chest armor.Due to high damage rates in the jungle, the Gundam's signature V-fin was replaced with a rod antenna mounted on the right side of the head. The snorkel camera was removed, and a pair of 35mm vulcan guns were mounted on either side of the head. Due to the lack of Luna Titanium armor material, extra armor was added to the forehead and around the chin for protection. Other changes include the addition of movable knee spikes, which ensure stability during firing, and an improved shield fitted with extra armor. Due to improved power balance, its backpack thrusters had a higher output despite being visually identical.Overall, as a result of the various modifications, the Ez8 was made lighter without significantly sacrificing durability. Though its basic performance was unchanged from the Gundam Ground Type, it was slightly superior in terms of mobility and communications ability.

HG 1/144 HGGTO RGM-79 GM (Shoulder Cannon/Missile Pod)

Bandai

$30.00

The RGM-79 GM is a mobile suit that appears in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. A mass-produced MS of the Earth Federation Forces manufactured in Jaburo. Unlike the Guncannon, which specialized in medium-range firepower support without focusing on MS battles, this machine is based on the RX-78-02 Gundam, which was basically designed as a multirole machine that can be equipped with various equipment changes depending on the battle situation, such as anti-ship and anti-fighter battles, while assuming MS battles as its "main weapon". In order to rebuild the strength of the Federation Forces as quickly as possible, its structure was simplified and costs were reduced with an emphasis on productivity, so it is a step behind the Gundam, especially in armor strength and reaction speed. Even so, it has become an MS with sufficient performance to serve as a mainstay weapon, and with data from actual battles with the Gundam inherited, it has been completed as a machine with specifications that exceed those of the Zaku II, albeit slightly. It is also equipped with a beam spray gun and a core pod as standard equipment, making it suitable for pilots with low skill levels.

HG 1/144 RX-78GP03 Gundam "Dendrobium"

Bandai

$332.00

The RX-78GP03 (RX-78GP03D) Gundam "Dendrobium" (aka Dendrobium, GP03) is the third unit of the Gundam Development Project, and the combination of the mobile suit unit - the RX-78GP03S Gundam "Stamen" - and the armed base "Orchis". It was introduced in the OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory and also featured in Episode 4 of Gundam Evolve. It was initially piloted by Anaheim test pilot Defrah Kar, and later by Federation MS pilot Kou Uraki. The goal of the Gundam Development Project was to create the most powerful mobile weapon. To that end, Unit 1 focused on maximizing the maneuverability and mobility of a mobile suit, while Unit 2 sought to combine the strongest mobile weapon with the strongest strategic weapon. Finally, Unit 3 sought to combine the versatility of a mobile suit with the heavy firepower of a mobile armor.Developed for base defense in space, the Gundam "Dendrobium" consisted of two parts: the mobile suit Gundam "Stamen" and the Armed Base "Orchis". The "Orchis" was essentially a massive mobile arsenal, featuring a variety of weapons and allowing the "Dendrobium" to switch to different weapons after deployment for different battle scenarios, from long range to close range combat. In addition to its massive array of weapons, the "Orchis" also boasted impressive mobility thanks to its large propellant capacity, and was able to rival a Zeon mobile armor in combat abilities. It was also equipped with a large I-Field generator on its right side for protection against beam weapons.

MG 1/100 RX-79 [G] Gundam Ground Type

Bandai

$32.00

The RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type is a limited production mobile suit introduced in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team OVA. The Gundam Ground Type was one of the early prototypes for the Earth Federation's mobile suit mass production plan, produced in limited numbers before the recovery of the RX-78-2 Gundam's combat data. As its name suggests, it was designed solely for ground combat, and all space-use equipment, as well as the Core Block System, were omitted. This caused the Gundam Ground Type to be lighter, allowing it to rival the performance of the RX-78 while under gravity. In order to save time and cost, the RX-79[G] was constructed using surplus parts for the RX-78. Since the quality of these parts varied greatly, differences in performance became a problem, so a limiter was added in order to ensure stable performance. This limiter can be disengaged, activating a state known as "MAX mode", greatly increasing performance. However, due to the heavy burden placed on the unit, this mode can only be activated for a limited time.Compared to the RX-78, the RX-79[G] featured many design changes. The head-mounted Vulcan guns were omitted in favor of the ability to mount various optional equipment to adapt to different situations, such as extra antennae for long-range communication or a Vulcan pod for enhanced close combat ability. An extendable snorkel camera for enemy searching was mounted on the left side of the head. The beam saber racks were moved from the backpack to the legs, and were changed to an enclosed type to prevent dust from entering. A Vulcan gun and a multi-launcher were mounted on the left side of the chest. Its backpack was designed to mount various equipment, such as a weapon container for carrying various handheld weapons or a parachute pack. The Gundam Ground Type was capable of using beam rifle. However, only a small number of beam rifles were manufactured for it, and few units were equipped with it. As such, its primary ranged weapons were physical projectile weapons, such as the 100mm machine gun and the 180mm cannon. Two spare magazines for the machine gun can be mounted on the side armor on the waist. As the RX-79[G] was built out of surplus parts for the RX-78, replacements parts were very limited, and many bases were forced to perform field repairs on their units using parts from other mobile suits, creating many custom type units. One such example was the unit piloted by Karen Joshua, which had its head replaced with the head of an RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type.
