The Sheik Mainland 3MIN Project-A Fenrir S2 Sniper Type is a 1/18 scale mecha model kit and the long-range specialist variant of the Fenrir platform from Sheik Mainland's 3MIN Project series. The S2 introduces two major systems not found on the Standard Type or Assault Type: interchangeable S1/S2 head sights for different combat roles and a backpack-mounted "Armadillo" layered armor system that provides asymmetric one-side coverage with a radar-blocking field. Each box includes two complete Fenrir S2 Sniper Type kits with all weapons and armor, and the model supports four official configurations - Full Armor S1, Full Armor S2, Light Armor S1, and Enhanced Full Armor S2.

Builder Context

The Fenrir S2 Sniper Type is the most parts-dense kit in the 3MIN Project-A Fenrir series to date, with 12 runners compared to the Assault Type's 10. Assembly remains snap-fit with no tools or adhesives required, though build time will be longer than the Standard Type due to the Armadillo armor system and additional weapon parts. The 3mm port system is fully compatible with Bandai 30MM, Kotobukiya MSG, and other Sheik Mainland 3MIN series accessories. Builders familiar with the A2 Standard Type or A6 Assault Type will recognize the core frame - the new complexity comes from the armor deployment and configuration options layered on top of it.

Why Build This Kit

The Sheik Mainland Fenrir S2 Sniper Type is the first kit in the 3MIN Project-A series designed around asymmetric armor and role specialization rather than uniform coverage, which gives it a visual silhouette distinct from both the Standard Type and Assault Type even though all three share the same core frame. The Armadillo layered armor system is new to the Fenrir line and introduces a build-and-pose dynamic that the previous variants lack - configuring the armor panels across four official loadouts means the S2 has more meaningful display variety per unit than any other kit in the series. At the same price as the Fenrir A6 Assault Type with two more runners and the Armadillo armor system included, the S2 represents the highest parts count per dollar in the 3MIN Project-A line. Builders who already own the A2 or A6 will find the S2 visually distinct enough to display alongside them, and the shared 3mm hardpoints mean weapons and accessories are cross-compatible across all Fenrir variants.
