The SNAA SC-011 Thunderstorms Mordred is a 1/144 scale model kit from the Beyond Exquisite (BE) Round Table Knights series. Mordred is the third mecha from the Holy Domain Knights sub-group and is classified as an all-around combat type - its base form is a knight-type close-combat unit armed with the Thunder Prison-Breaking Spear and Thunder-Drawing Hammer, but through a data-driven upgrade it transforms into the Wind Thunder Equipment Form, adding the Ionized Thunder Wind Wings and Lightning Claws for powerful ranged lightning attacks at varying distances.

Builder Context

The Round Table Knights kits are suited for beginner to intermediate builders. Assembly is snap-fit with no cement required, and the build complexity is comparable to Bandai RG kits. The Thunderstorms Mordred has more parts than a typical BE kit due to the wing assemblies and multiple weapon accessories, so expect a longer build session than simpler entries like Lamorak. Panel lining and decal application are recommended for the best finished appearance, but painting is optional thanks to the pre-colored armor separation.

Why Build This Kit

The SNAA SC-011 Thunderstorms Mordred is the most display-forward kit in the Round Table Knights lineup to date, with a massive feathered wingspan and translucent lightning effect parts that give it shelf presence well beyond what most 1/144 kits deliver from any manufacturer. The dual-form concept means builders get two distinct display options from a single kit - a compact knight-type close-combat configuration and the fully deployed Wind Thunder form with wings, claws, and chain lightning effects. Mordred packs more accessory volume than most entries in the series, including a dedicated display stand - which is not standard across all BE kits and is important here given how much of the visual impact depends on aerial posing. Builders familiar with Bandai's RG Wing Gundam Zero will find a similar wing-and-effect-parts display philosophy here, but with a non-Gundam original design and an Arthurian fantasy aesthetic. The Round Table Knights line is nearing completion at 11 of 12 planned entries, making Mordred one of the last new entries for collectors following the full series.
